Regrowing Spring Onion bulbs by using organic fertilizer and recycled container.

Greetings Hive,

I wish everyone is doing well.

Today I want to share with you some useful tips.

I know that in times of thinking about recycling we can always remember a lot of strategies but the only problem is the time and efforts.

Now I want to show you some directions on how I grow some
of my recycled veggies.

Usually, Spring Onions are sold by bundle in the market and I can use
all of them for several days for cooking from the day it was bought so I have this idea that what if I save its bulbs for replanting.

I gather the materials needed which are the empty plastic gallon of catsup (I commonly use this thing because of its availability since I work from a pizza parlour) a sickle, a sharp object for the hole, ordinary and organic soil and rice hulls.

The very first step that I made is that I save every bulb whenever I used the spring onions for cooking.

I soaked it in the water for days while waiting for the remaining.

After I collected them all then it's time for the process.

place the container horizontally to make a wide space for planting.

like this.

Punch a lot of holes so the waters will drain properly.

in putting the soil I put some part of the rice hulls at the bottom of the container first (so that the roots can grow freely) and the rest was combined with the soil.

soil used was the one from the decomposed leaves, woods and other materials I add ordinary soil also to lessen the saltiness since part of the soil is from the burned leaves and woods and add on the remaining part of the rice hulls.

And for the watering schedule, I only water them every other day and place them where the sunlight can reach them appropriately.

week 4

Now in just 4 weeks, a new veggie is fully grown up and it's ready to use again I was only waiting for a good recipe to make use out of this.

It's not my first time I regrow spring onions and that time I just let them grow on the grounds and it didn't come out good but this one makes me want to grow more in this way.

Thank you for taking the time to read I hope you found some good idea that you might use someday.

Keef safe Hive 😉
