Index4INDEX Card 199: Judy Garland 2

I can live without money, but I cannot live without love.

-- Judy Garland

About the Quote

For one thing, nearly all of us were born without money, so being without money wouldn't be anything new. On the other hand, love is essential for the growth and development of a person, from birth until the end.

Love-- and its absence-- help to form whatever value systems we each have. Lack of love ends up with us having a destructive set of values, whether directed outward toward others or inward toward ourselves.

This isn't even taking into account situations such as lonlieness or abandonment. Even in prison, love can make a difference in the quality of life for a prisoner.
