To know how much there is to know is the beginning of learning to live.

About the Quote

It helps to have a roadmap for how to go forward in life. The first step in developing that roadmap is to find out what's expected and needed along the way. If we deviate from the roadmap, we will know that and then be able to get back on the path set out by the roadmap

Some Information about Dorothy West

Dorothy West was born in Boston, Massachusetts, US on 1907-June-2. She died on 1998-August-16, also in Boston.

From the age of 7 she had been a writer. She was one of many writers who had moved to New York City to be part of the Harlem Renaissance of 1918 through 1937. Among her fellow writers in Harlem were Countee Cullen, Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Claude McKay, and Wallace Thurman. Within that group, she was considered "The Kid" since she was the youngest.

Among her notable works were a 1926 short story titled "The Typewriter" and a 1995 book titled The Wedding. Dorothy West had dedicated the book in memory of Jacqueline Onasis, and the book was adapted for a mini-series by Oprah Winfrey in 1998.
