Our family vacation has been going pretty great. Wednesday was our 5th day here in Ocean City. We went to bed and woke up to a forecast of thunderstorms. I'm happy to report that it never ended raining once yesterday. In fact, it was some of the best weather that we have had here so far. Let's talk about another day with my family.

The ocean water was still colder than what we are all used to, but we are starting to warm up to it. It seemed as though it was slightly warmer than it had been during the previous days. Enough so, that it gave @flowerbaby the courage to dive into waves many times out there. My brother and I both enjoyed letting the waves crash upon us and obliterate us down into the soft sand. Rotating between swimming out in the water and laying out in our chairs chatting together was how we spent a solid 4 or 5 hours.

Before leaving, we took a bunch of photos by the water. Everyone in the family was included and we all did some fun poses with each other. The best one was when @flowerbaby got up on my shoulders. It was not easy to get her up there, but we made it happen. My mom helped hoist her up and then I was able to stand straight up and get a wonderful photograph. Beach photos are always the best!

We returned inside a little bit after 3 and began getting ready for our evening. @flowerbaby and I were ready before everyone else, so we went ahead and traveled to the shopping outlets nearby. Turns out we didn't buy a thing and weren't very impressed by the stores, we are deal hunters and there weren't many good sales. The outlets were less than 5 miles away, yet still took us 20-25 minutes to get there thanks to traffic. That is one thing we all don't love about Ocean City, how busy it is and also how expensive. However, none of us have let those things detract from our total enjoyment of this vacation together.

After our brief shopping expedition, we met my parents and the rest of the crew at the boardwalk. I'm not a huge fan of just walking aimlessly up and down a near infinite path of cloned shops, but everyone else seems to enjoy it so we went.

While on the boardwalk, we ate at a restaurant called Bull on the Beach. This place had a great view of the ocean, but that was the extent of the positives. Sadly, it was our worst meal in Ocean City yet. The food and portions both were lacking, but the price was still insanely high of course. The bill for 6 people was nearly $175 and none of us even enjoyed our food much. Frankly, none of the restaurants here have been spectacular, but none were as distasteful as this one. It almost feels like we are just making absurd donations to these joints after they serve us up basic grub. Maybe we all just have a sour taste in our mouths thanks to prices being 2x-3x what we are used to and the quality is no better than half as good as places back home.

I digress. We were all still hungry after dinner, so we got some dessert from one of the boardwalk stands. I got a couple of churros and then a giant order of deep-fried Oreos. Both were absolutely terrible for us, but nobody seemed to care, especially while on vacation.

After we stuffed our faces with sugar, we decided to take another family photo. There was a mini-boardwalk off the main boardwalk, which led all the way out in the sand towards the beach. We positioned ourselves there and had a giant Ferris wheel and more bright lights behind us. I think the photo turned out pretty good, but everyone else was not having fun during the setup. There were people trying to walk by and I kept doing minor adjustments so that the result would be as close to perfect as possible. I usually only take one shot of each pose so I don't have endless photos to sort through in the post process.

One thing about this family is that none of us really stay up super late. We all seem to tire out and head to bed by 9-10 pm each night. Wednesday evening was no different, although before bed @flowerbaby and I did watch episode 5 of The Anarchists. It was pretty good, but we are more excited for the finale this Sunday.

Thanks for reading the next post in my family vacation series. Thursday is our last full day here, so expect that to be the final beach post in a while. We are all traveling to Baltimore on Friday though, so I will have a cool post discussing everything we do there. Be sure to follow me if you aren't already so that you don't miss out on my upcoming content.
