Here you can see Motovun. The old town on the hill in the central - northern part of Istra, this peninsula on which I live.
This photograph was taken somewhere along the road, in the central part of the peninsula.
I don't remember where this shot was taken. It could be Motovun, but who knows. From a distance, the town is pretty unique, but some neighborhoods can be easily confused with similar neighborhoods in other old towns in the area.
Here again, I can't tell you the exact place.
This is a roadside tavern relatively close to the city of Pazin. I have to drive approximately 60 - 65 kilometers from my hometown to Pazin, and about 80 - 85 to Motovun.
The photographs in this post were taken in the winter of 2011. I don't remember anything about that day, anything about the drive and the occasion. In this case, is like I never took those photographs. I see them just like you, like an observer that has nothing to do with their creation. It was long enough ago to be completely forgotten. I remember all the macro photographs I took even in the years prior to 2011, but when it comes to these more generic shots taken on the road, they exist only in folders on my computer, not in my memory. I do recognize some places shown in these pictures, but some details and stretches of the road are a mystery to me today.
