Hello everyone. I'm doing a black and white photo shoot for @derangedvisions photo contest and I'm entering for the Amateur Tier because these photos were taken from my Motorola cell phone and the quality isn't really that good but it's all I have. Maybe one day I'll get a nice camera to take some nice pictures with!
I took my daughter Morel hunting with a good friend of mine this past spring to teach her about nature and hunting for mushrooms where we live in central New York and boy did we find a lot! I am an amateur mycologist and I love everything about mushrooms. They are very interesting to understand and the beauty is unlike anything I've seen. She was so excited to get to cut her first Morel with her dad! We searched for hours before we hit the big patch! The excitement in her eyes said more than any words could express! The bugs and mosquitoes were really bad so we had to dress up in heavy clothes but this day it was all worth it! After looking for another hour or so I split the bounty with my friend and headed home. I couldn't believe how many we came home with and the story she had told to her mom was priceless! My daughter refused to try them but I didn't mind because they are my favorite mushroom to eat so it was more for me! They have like a nutty almost earthy taste. We had gone out a few times before this day and looked for hours and didn't find any Morels. It was a day I will definitely always remember and I hope she never forgets this wonderful experience! Thank you for stopping by and reading my post!
