Good evening Hivians, today I want to tell you an interesting story that directly concerns this platform and some of its users; a story about art and bonds.
Let's go back five years ago when I was already publishing on this platform, which was still the old version at that time. We were approaching the Christmas period and my mother's birthday, which is on December 10th. Wanting to give her a special gift for everything she did every day of the year, my brother and I came up with a great idea.
At that time, my brother also wrote some posts, and we had recently met an artist, @carolineschell, through the platform. She was a truly talented artist and a very sweet and kind person. So, we thought of asking her if it was possible to commission a portrait of our mother and pay for it with cryptocurrency, at that time SBD. This was actually my first purchase made through cryptocurrency in 2018.
Buona sera Hivians, oggi voglio raccontarvi una storia interessante, che riguarda direttamente questa piattaforma e alcuni suoi utenti, una storia che parla di arte e legami.
Torniamo a 5 anni fa, quando già pubblicavo in questa piattaforma, che all'epoca era ancora la vecchia versione. Ci avvicinavamo al periodo Natalizio e al compleanno di mia madre che è il 10 Dicembre, volendo farle un regalo speciale per tutto quello che faceva ogni giorno dell'anno, a me e mio fratello era venuta proprio una bella idea.
In quel periodo anche mio fratello scriveva qualche post e non da molto avevamo conosciuto grazie alla piattaforma @carolineschell, un'artista veramente molto talentuosa e una persona molto dolce e gentile, così avevamo pensato di chiederle se era possibile commissionare un ritratto di nostra madre e pagarlo in cryptovaluta, all'epoca SBD. Che fu tra l'altro nel 2018 il mio primo acquisto effettuato tramite cryptovalute.
When I brought the idea to @carolineschell and asked if it was possible, I remember very well to this day that she was immediately happy and enthusiastic, even though she was and still is very busy. This made me very happy. So, after agreeing on the compensation for the commissioned work (which I do not remember exactly to avoid inaccuracies), I can tell you that it was not a small sum in itself, but it was really little considering the caliber of the artist, whose works are displayed in important Austrian government buildings, among others.

Quando riportai l'idea a @carolineschell e le chiesi se era possibile, ricordo benissimo ancora oggi, che ne fu subito felice ed entusiasta nonostante fosse e sia sempre molto impegnata e quello mi fece molto piacere. Così concordato il compenso per il lavoro commissionato, che ora non ricordo con precisione e per non dire una inesattezza non lo riporto, anche se posso dirvi che non era poco come somma in sé, ma era veramente poco considerando il calibro dell'artista, che senza ombra di dubbio mi aveva fatto un prezzo molto amico. Perché ricordo a chi non conosce @carolineschell, che le sue opere sono esposte in importanti palazzi governativi austriaci e non solo.

As you can see from her post, the artwork was perfectly packed and shipped, arriving on time and in perfect condition. When it arrived, I didn't show it to my mother because it still needed a suitable frame, and I couldn't ask anyone better than my aunt Maria for that job. Unfortunately, she is no longer with us, and that was the last gift she gave to my mother. My aunt worked her entire life in the world of design and knew art well. As soon as she saw the painting, she praised it as a work of art and said that she would find a worthy frame and give it to my mother as a gift because she also wanted to participate in such a beautiful gift. My brother and I happily accepted her contribution.
Come potete aver visto dal suo post, fu perfettamente imballato e spedito, arrivando puntuale e in perfette condizioni. Quando arrivò, non lo feci vedere a mia madre, perché necessitava ancora di una adeguata cornice e non potevo chiedere a persona migliore di mia zia Maria per quel lavoro, che oggi purtroppo non c'è più con noi e quello fu l'ultimo regalo che fece a mia madre. Mia zia lavorò tutta la vita nel mondo del design e conosceva bene l'arte, infatti, appena vide il quadro lo elogiò come un'opera d'arte e disse che ci avrebbe pensato lei a trovare una degna cornice e che gliela avrebbe regalata lei a mia madre perché avrebbe voluto partecipare anche lei a un regalo così bello e io e mio fratello accettammo volentieri il suo contributo.
Since December 10, 2018, when my mother happily received her gift, the painting has remained above the fireplace in the living room and is one of the first elements that catches your eye as soon as you enter the house. Accompanied by an elegant frame, with its light and soft touches that make it harmonious, it is always a spectacle to admire every time. That's why I sincerely thank @carolineschell for the wonderful artwork she made for us.
I had only one concern over the years. Placed above the heat of the fireplace, I was afraid that the heat could damage it. But every winter, I carefully observe and check its condition, and so far, I have not changed its appearance in any way. The boiserie frame probably protects it from direct impact and disperses the heat without compromising the painting, which still shows its full splendor as it was just made by the artist.
Dal 10 Dicembre del 2018, quando mia madre felicissima ricevette il suo regalo, il quadro è rimasto posto sopra il caminetto in salotto, ed è uno dei primi elementi che esaltano appena si entra in casa. Accompagnato da un'elegante cornice, con i suoi tocchi leggeri e morbidi che lo rendono armonioso è sempre uno spettacolo da ammirare ogni volta e per questo ringrazio di cuore @carolineschell per la meravigliosa opera d'arte che realizzò per noi.
Ho avuto una sola preoccupazione in questi anni, posto sopra il calore del camino temevo che il calore lo potesse rovinare, ma ad ogni inverno lo osservo sempre bene e controllo il suo stato e fino ad ora non ho mai cambiato il suo aspetto in nulla, probabilmente il cornicione della boiserie lo protegge dall'impatto diretto e disperde il calore senza compromettere il quadro, che ad oggi si mostra ancora nel suo massimo splendore come appena realizzato dall'artista.
