I have learned from the Land expansion that I would only buy assets of a game that can actually be used.
I agree that investing in something not yet usable and playable is a risk. On the other hand it can lead to big gains but your reasoning is logical and right. I try to put myself in the middle trying not to expose myself too much in investments that do not yet have a playable game ;)
