Hello all Hivers and Splinterlands friends, the subject of @steemmonsters weekly challenge are dragons!

DRAGONS SPLINTER

Dragons have ancient origins in the Splinterlands. Their home territory is the mythical Draykh-Nahka. The kingdom of Dragons needs no introduction. The only thing that is certain is that it is a very dangerous territory, with creatures inside that exist nowhere else in Splinterlands. For me, the Dragon cards are among the strongest in the game. Materially they are also among the most expensive. I only own a few Dragon cards from the opening Chaos Legion packs and a few Rewards cards. As soon as I read about the weekly Steemmonsters contest I immediately thought I would participate. But since Share Your Battle Dragons is repeated cyclically I thought it would be better to use different cards than the usual ones I showed you previously. Precisely because I have always been intrigued by these cards I then decided to resort to renting them in order to discover new cards and admire their power. And, of course, to be able to participate in the contest by bringing a breath of fresh air into my card analysis.

Last time I had opted to rent only Riftwatchers cards in order to try them out and was fascinated by this new card expansion of SPlinterlands.

Today I opted to rent only two cards, the ones that impressed me the most. But to give a boost compared to the last Dragon-themed challenge I thought I would rent them at a higher level.

Hope you enjoy it :)

THE BATTLE

THE DEPLOYMENT

First of all, when using Splinter Dragons we have the possibility to choose which other Splinter to add to the battle. This is a peculiarity of the Splinter Dragon Summoners.

Therefore, I decided to combine two Splinters that fascinate me a lot by trying to exploit the abilities of both: Splinter Dragon + Splinter Terra.

As you can see, I chose Sthispa Gold Foil lv 3 as the summoner. This is because I wanted to bring a breath of fresh air into the challenge, because I've never used a Gold Foil summoner before, and finally because with a LV3 summoner I could use cards higher than LV1.

Next comes the Dragon Prince, the most interesting card in my opinion and one of the strongest of the entire Splinter: Agor LongTail. A real beast which we will analyse below :)

As for the combined Splinter (Terra's) I decided to take advantage of Goblin Psychic's healing and magical abilities, also deploying Mycelic Morphoid and Fundus Fiend.

pngegg_1_.png

THE RULES OF COMBAT

Mana cap for battle set at 26 points. Possibility to use cards from the splinters: Fire, Water, Earth, Death, and Dragon.
LIMITATION: none. There are no limitations in this fight.

Certainly the fact that there is no limitation for the match is a great advantage for me, but it could also be for my opponent: so watch out! Never let your guard down.

pngegg_1_.png

MY DEPLOYMENT

Summoner: Sthipsa.

Sthipsa is a very interesting summoner from Splinter Dragons. I chose, as I mentioned above, to rent a Gold Foil version at LV 3. As I said, essentially for two reasons: to bring new content into the challenge and above all to be able to field monsters higher than LV1.

The other reason I didn't mention is that I really like this Gold Foil version of Sthipsa, it's really amazing graphics.

Sthipsa possesses a special ability: Phase

Phase is a special ability that allows the monster possessing it to dodge a magic attack.

Obviously being a summoner, Sthipsa grants his Phase skill to all my monsters deployed on the playing field! A great advantage, for sure, against monsters with magic attacks!

Agor Longtail

Agor Longtail is officially a candidate to be the main card of Splinter Dragons! It's easy to see why: it's a beast!
It possesses two attacks, good armour, very good life and no less than three skills! Not one, not two, but three! THAT'S CRAZY!

Truly an incredible card that fascinates me greatly. For this challenge I chose to rent an Agor Longtail at LV2.

Let's look at the card: mana cost 15 points; Meele Attack: 3 points; Magic Attack: 2 points; Speed: 3 points; Armour: 6 points; Life: 13 points.
Skill: Flying ( The monster that possesses it has the ability to avoid Meele or Ranged attacks from opposing monsters); Skill: Taunt ( all opposing monsters attack the monster in question, if they succeed); Skill: Void Armor: magic attacks affect his armor first rather than his health.

Rightly, he too knows that he is a rare beast, and his abilities seem to confirm this to all intents and purposes!

Goblin Psychic

Goblin Psychic is a common card of Splinter Terra. Cost in mana 6 points, magic attack 2 points; speed 1 point and life 4 points. Granted, at LV1 it's not the best, but it does the trick. As an ability it has Tank Cure, which means that for each turn it restores a portion of the energy of the monster in the front row of the fight (i.e. our tank)

Mycelic Morphoid

Cost in Mana 1 points; Meele Attack 1 points; Speed: 1 points and finally 2 points Life. Clearly to protect the backline.

Fungus Fiend.

Fungus Fiend: cost in mana 0. Mandatory to close the deployment and armour the rear.

MY STRATEGY

My strategy is to exploit the strength of the summoner Sthipsa and his Phase ability, transmitting it to all my monsters on the field. With that ability, my monsters will be able to dodge magic attacks.

The entire team rests on my tank, not that the absolute protagonist of the match in question: Agor Longtail.

Agor Longtail can attack twice per turn using his dual Meele and Magic attack!

In addition, thanks to his 3 skills he'll be able to try and dodge Ranged and Meele attacks; all monsters will attack him, so I'm more likely to dodge some attacks; finally, thanks to Void Armor, the opponent's magic attacks, should he get around the Phase skill, will crash into his armour first, allowing him not to lose any Life points.

But that's not all! Goblin Psychic has the task of healing my tank each turn, granting him more life and thus more chances to extend his match. In fact once the armour is destroyed the opponents will start hitting his vital points and that's where Goblin Psychic comes in, plus he will be able to contribute to the attacks against the opponent's monsters thanks to his magic attack.

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?

My strategy worked perfectly!

In the first round it looked like Agor Longtail was losing ground as the opponent's attacks crashed into his armour and soon it was destroyed, also affecting his health. But then Goblin Psychic came into play, which round after round restored a portion of life energy to my tank and this allowed me to make it to the last round with my entire line-up in play.

Clearly the primary objective of my strategy was to fully utilise the energy and firepower of Agor Longtail, whose two attacks each round gave my opponents a run for their money.

Although the opponent's summoner Thaddius Brood adversely affected my deployment, taking away not only 1 life point but also a magic attack point, he was unable to completely stop Agor Longtail and my deployment.

Round after round my opponents fell like skittles and I managed to limit my losses and damage.

I would say a winning strategy!

Come potete vedere ho scelto come evocatore Sthispa Gold Foil lv 3.

THAT'S CRAZY!

Mycelic Morphoid

Costo in Mana di 1 punti; Meele Attack 1 punti; Velocità: 1 punti ed infine 2 punti Vita. Chiaramente a protezione del fronte arretrato.

Fungus Fiend

Fungus Fiend: costo in mana 0.
