Hello all Splinterlands and Hive friends. I have recently started this new project where I tell stories based on the Lore of Splinterlands and my own inventions, both of battles and cards. Let me know what you think.
After Gobson's lawyers' plea, it was time for the defence plea. The problem for the three humans was that they did not have a public defender, a lawyer who worked for them for that matter. So together they decided that the most suitable person to represent them before the judge as their defence counsel was Sinder. He was the only one of the three who could actually be a good speaker and at the same time could freely go along with the plan, previously hatched by the three, to lose as much time as possible so that the moon would set and thus arrive at sunrise. It was precisely at sunrise that the Full Moon Party would come to an end and peace and normalcy in the town of Gobson would be restored. In this way, the three humans would be definitively absolved, as the special laws (or rather non-laws) of the crazy night dedicated to the Full Moon would have to disappear. If they were not acquitted and their 'imprisonment' was prolonged, then the three humans could appeal to the highest authorities of Anumun, who would surely punish the Goblins.
" Come forward, the court calls you to defend yourself," thundered the Goblin judge loudly.
"Here I am, your honour. I am ready to represent myself and my comrades in this court," replied Sinder as he approached.
The large crowd of Goblins that filled the square began to whistle and grumble at Sinder.
"Concerning the charges brought by Gobson's city lawyers, what do you have to answer before this court?" asked the judge.
"Your Honour, the charges brought against me and my friends are completely unfounded. We are not outlaws and had no intention of sneaking into Gobson to sabotage your Full Moon Fest. Furthermore, we did not in any way damage the property or persons of your people. We did not resist or even try to kill any Goblins," Sinder said promptly.
"Go ahead, state your side of the story," said the judge.
"Objection, your honour," thundered the defence lawyer.
"Objection sustained, what do you mean?" replied the judge.
"The plaintiff's counsel has stated his case, now it would be our turn to move on to question the witnesses," said the counsel.
"Objection sustained, return to human place. I call Counsel Goblin to the stand."
"Objection your honour. The other side has no right to proceed, if you allow I would like to proceed to question my witnesses myself," said Sinder.
"Objection overruled, human," thundered the judge.
"Objection your honour, we have every right to proceed in this manner," retorted Sinder.
"Objection your honour, WE have the right to proceed in the manner indicated," retorted lawyer Goblin promptly.
"Objection overruled, gentlemen. I am the one to decide. Pull yourselves together and be quiet. We will proceed according to my instructions."
Silence reigned in that tumultuous instant. The Judge seemed immovable and seemed to lean towards the Goblins' side.
"Attorney Goblin, you are called to the bench. Proceed with your questioning. Human lawyer, don't you dare to make any new objections, otherwise I will be forced to withdraw your defence counsel," the judge thundered.
"Your Honour," said the Goblin lawyer as he approached the dock, "I want to call as a witness the leader of the Goblin team that took the humans prisoner."
"Proceed, Counselor."
From the stairs to the stage came the Chief Goblin, cheered by the crowd (who at the same time represented the jury).
" Your Honour, with your permission, I ask the Chief Goblin to take the stand and proceed with the testimony," said the Goblin lawyer.
" So, Chief Goblin...I remind you that we are in a courtroom here and the truth is the only thing that must come out of your mouth. Do you therefore swear to tell the truth, the truth and nothing but the truth?" said the Judge.
"I so swear, Your Honour," replied the witness.
"You are welcome, Counsel. Proceed," concluded the Judge.
"Mr. Chief Goblin, did you arrest the three humans found trying to sneak into Gobson's this afternoon?"
" Yes, correct," replied the Chief Goblin.
"Did you try to ask them why they were there?"
"Yes, counselor."
"And what did they answer?"
"That they were passing by and were on their way home."
" So, they were passing by because they were on their way home, but they were looking for a way inside the city walls so that they could sneak into Gobson without trouble?"
" Yes, correct.
" What did you do immediately afterwards?"
" I arrested them and took them to the station for investigation."
" Do you confirm that during the arrest the three tried to riot and also insulted you and your men in insulting terms repeatedly?"
"Yes, I confirm"
"Once at the station, did you proceed to file them in and assign them to a prison guard who would accompany them to their cells?"
"Yes, correct, Counselor."
" Do you also confirm that the three attempted to kill the security guard by stealth?"
" Yes, Counselor. I confirm. I might add that if we had not intervened in time, our friend Goblin probably wouldn't have been among us by now."
" Perfect. Your Honour, I have concluded." the lawyer closed.
"Thank you Counselor. The Court will now consider any objections and/or requests from the defence, please approach Human lawyer. Do you have anything to say?"
" Yes, your honour. The testimony is false..." was about to say Sinder when he was interrupted by lawyer Goblin.
"Objection your honour, you cannot question our loyalty. We took an oath."
"Objection sustained, Counselor. Mr. Human Counsel, do not question the testimony of the defence and tell us what line you want to take for your argument." said the Judge.
"All right, your Honour. I would like to call the Chief Goblins to testify as well, I would also like the head of the Goblin Family to testify." thundered Sinder.
Moments of dismay followed that sentence. The Goblin people began to clamour. The defence lawyer's face grimaced. The judge accepted Sinder's demands.
"Human lawyer, you may proceed to the questioning of the Goblin Chief. As for the Goblin Family, we will do everything we can to bring them to this courtroom."

Salve a tutti amici di Splinterlands e di Hive. Ho da poco iniziato questo nuovo progetto in cui racconto storie basandomi sulla Lore di Splinterlands e su mie invenzioni, sia di battaglie che di carte. Fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate.
Dopo l'arringa degli avvocati di Gobson, era venuto il momento dell'arringa difensiva. Il problema per i tre umani era quello di non avere un difensore d'ufficio, un avvocato che lavorava per loro per intenderci. Quindi, insieme, presero la decisione che il più adatto a rappresentarli davanti al giudice in qualità di difensore fosse Sinder. L'unico dei 3 che poteva effettivamente essere un buon oratore e nel contempo poteva liberamente adeguarsi al piano, ordito precedentemente dai tre, di perdere quanto più tempo possibile in modo tale da far calare la luna e arrivare così al sorgere del sole. Proprio il sorgere del sole rappresentava il momento in cui il Full Moon Party sarebbe dovuto terminare e la pace e la normalità nella città di Gobson sarebbe dovuta essere ristabilita. In questo modo i tre umani sarebbe stati definitivamente assolti, in quanto le le leggi speciali (o meglio le non leggi) della notte folle dedicata alla Luna Piena sarebbe dovute scomparire. Se non fossero stati assolti e la loro "prigionia" si sarebbe prolungata, allora i tre umani avrebbero potuto appellarsi alle massime autorità di Anumun, che avrebbero sicuramente punito i Goblins.
" Venga avanti, la corte la chiama a difendersi" tuonó a gran voce il giudice Goblin.
" Eccomi, vostro onore. Sono pronto a rappresentare me stesso e i miei comoagni in questo tribunale" rispose Sinder avvicinandosi.
La grande folla di Goblins che riempiva la piazza inizió a fischiare e mugugnare contro Sinder.
" In merito alle accuse mosse dagli avvocati della città di Gobson, cos'ha da rispondere di fronte a questa corte?" chiese il giudice.
"Vostro onore, le accuse mosse contro di me e i miei amici sono del tutto infondate. Noi non siamo dei fuorilegge e non avevamo intenzione di entrare furtivamente a Gobson per sabotare il vostro Full Moon Fest. Inoltre, non abbiamo il alcun modo danneggiato cose o persone della vostro gente. Non abbiamo opposto resistenza ne tantomeno abbiamo provato ad uccidere qualche Goblins" disse prontamente Sinder.
" Prosegua, riporti la vostra versione dei fatti" disse il giudice.
"Obiezione, vostro onore" tuonó l'avvocato difensore.
"Obiezione accolta, cosa vuole dire?" rispose il giudice.
"l'avvocato della parte lesa ha esposto il suo pensiero, ora toccherebbe a noi passare all'interrogazione dei testimoni" disse l'avvocato.
"Obiezione accolta, torni a posto umano. Chiamo al banco l'avvocato Goblin".
"Obiezione vostro onore. La controparte non ha il diritto di procedere, se permette vorrei procedere io stesso ad interrogare i miei testimoni." disse Sinder.
"Obiezione rifiutata, umano" tuonó il giudice.
" Obiezione vostro onore, abbiamo tutto il diritto di procedere in questo modo" ribatté Sinder.
"Obiezione vostro onore, NOI abbiamo il diritto di procedere nel modo indicato" ribatté prontamente l'avvocato Goblin.
"Obiezioni rifiutate, signori. Sono io a decidere. Ricomponetevi e fate silenzio. Procederemo secondo le mie indicazioni".
Il silenzio regnava in quell'istante tumultuoso. Il Giudice sembrava inamovibile e sembrava propendere per la parte dei Goblins.
" Avvocato Goblin, é chiamato al banco. Proceda con le sue interrogazioni. Avvocato umano, lei non si azzardi a muovere nuove obiezioni altrimenti saró costretto a torglergli l'incarico di difensore." tuonó il giudice.
" Vostro onore" disse l'avvocato Goblin avvicinandosi al banco degli imputati, " voglio chiamare a testimoniare il Capo della squadra Goblin che ha fatto prigionieri gli umani".
" Proceda pure, avvocato"
Dalle scale del palco salì il Goblin Capo, acclamato dalla folla (che allo stesso tempo rappresentava la giuria).
" Vostro onore, con il suo permesso, chiedo al Goblin Capo di sedersi al banco e procedere con la testimonianza" disse l'avvocato Goblin.
" Allora, Goblin Capo.. le ricordo che qui siamo in un aula di tribunale e la verità è l'unica cosa che deve uscire dalla sua bocca. Per tanto,lei giura di dire la verità, solo la verità e nient'altro che la verità?" disse il Giudice.
" Lo giuro vostro onore" rispose il testimone.
" Prego, avvocato. Proceda pure" concluse il Giudice.
" Signor Goblin Capo, lei ha arrestato i tre umani ritrovati nell'intento di intrufolarsi di nascosto a Gobson questo pomeriggio?"
" Si, correttto" rispose il Goblin Capo.
" Lei ha provato a chiedergli il perchè si trovassero li?"
" Si, avvocato"
" E cosa le hanno risposo?"
" Che erano di passaggio ed erano sulla strada di casa"
" Quindi, erano di passeggio in quanto sulla strada di casa, ma stavano cercando un varco all'interno delle mura della città per poter entrare di nascosto e senza problemi a Gobson?"
" Si, corretto.
" Cosa ha fatto subito dopo?"
" Li ho arrestati e portati in centrale per accertamenti"
" Conferma che durante l'arresto i tre hanno provato a ribellarsi e inoltre hanno insultato lei e i suoi uomini in termini offensivi ripetutamente?"
" Si, confermo"
" Una volta in centrale, ha proceduto a schedarli e ad assegnarli ad una guardia carceraria che li avrebbe accompagnati in cella?"
" Si, corretto Avvocato"
" Conferma anche che i tre hanno tentato di uccidere furtivamente la guardia giurata?"
" Si, avvocato. Confermo. Mi sento di aggiungere che se non fossimo intervenuti in tempo probabilmente il nostro amico Goblin a quest'ora non sarebbe stato tra di noi".
" Perfetto. Vostro onore, ho concluso". chiuse l'avvocato.
" Grazie Avvocato. Ora la Corte esaminerà eventuali obiezioni e/o richieste della difesa, la prego di avvicinarsi avvocato Umano. Ha qualcosa da dire?"
" Si, vostro onore. La testimonianza è falsa..." si accingeva a dire Sinder quando fu interrotto dall'avvocato Goblin.
"Obiezione vostro onore, non può mettere in discussione la nostra lealtà. Abbiamo fatto un giuramento"
" Obiezione accolta, Avvocato. Signor avvocato Umano, non metta in discussione le testimonianze della difesa e ci dica quale linea vuole seguire per la sua arringa." disse il Giudice.
" E va bene, vostro Onore. Vorrei chiamare allora a testimoniare anche io i Goblin Capo, vorrei anche che a testimoniare venisse il capo famiglia della Goblin Family". tuonò Sinder.
Attimi di sgomento seguirono quella frase. Il popolo Goblin iniziò a rumoreggiare. Il volto dell'avvocato difensore fece una smorfia. Il giudice, accettò le richieste di Sinder.
" Avvocato Umano, può proseguire alla interrogazione del Goblin Capo. Per quanto riguarda la Goblin Family, faremo il possibile per farli venire in quest'aula."
