Ultimamente mi sto dedicando molto alle cross-chain ed ai programmi sviluppati per poter fare comunicare blockchain differenti e creare interoperabilità tra esse. L'ultima piattaforma che ho testato è per l'appunto Wormhole, una "bridge-utility" sviluppata su Solana per poter "trasferire" token e NFT da #Ethereum, #Binance Smart Chain e #Terra (tra poco anche #Polygon) verso #Solana e viceversa.

Lately I'm dedicating a lot of time to cross-chain and to the programs developed to communicate different blockchains and create interoperability between them. The last platform I tested is Wormhole, a "bridge-utility" developed on Solana to transfer token and NFT from #Ethereum, #Binance Smart Chain or #Terra (and #Polygon soon) to #Solana and vice versa.
La struttura di questa applicazione è molto interessante ed è importante capire come funziona per non prendersi degli spaventi inutili. Come avrete notato ho scritto «trasferire» tra virgolette perchè non è esattamente quello che succede: di fatto il token o l'NFT che desideriamo trasferire su Solana tramite #Wormhole verrà congelato su questa piattaforma che provvederà a crearne uno identico (o quasi) per poter renderlo riscattabile con il nostro #wallet di Solana.
Questo fa si che degli #NFT che risultano "non identificati" (poichè non nativi di Solana) si possa rintracciare la provenienza anche se da altre blockchain inserendo semplicemente l'indirizzo dell' NFT che desideriamo verificare. Questo ci mostrerà se l'acquisto che stiamo per fare sia veritiero e, una volta che lo avremo effettuato, potremo utilizzare Wormhole per riscattare l'originale congelato sulla blockchain di provenienza (Ethereum o Bsc). Se scegliamo questa strada l'NFT creato da Wormhole verrà bruciato dopo che avremo riscattato l'originale. (questa funzione la possiamo utilizzare anche se abbiamo dei ripensamenti sullo spostamento che abbiamo fatto noi)
Ancora questa applicazione è in sviluppo (con ottime tempistiche direi) e confido che vengano inserite altre funzionalità e perfezionate quelle già esistenti. Come dicevo infatti non sempre il trasferimento riesce a pennello, prendiamo per esempio il mio caso: ho trasferito un NFT acquistato su #BSC che è un mini-clip fighissimo, su Solana però viene visualizzato solo come #immagine. Questo può creare un deficit di interesse e anche dei dubbi agli eventuali acquirenti poiché in pochi conoscono la funzione NFT Origin Verifier di Wormhole.
The structure of this application is very interesting and it is important to understand how it works in order not to get unnecessary scares. As you may have noticed I wrote "transfer" in quotes because that's not exactly what happens: in fact the token or NFT that we want to transfer to Solana via Wormhole will be frozen on this platform that will create an identical one (or almost) in order to make it redeemable with our Solana wallet.
This means that NFTs that are "unidentified" (because they are not native to Solana) can be traced even if from other blockchains by simply entering the address of the NFT we want to verify. This will show us if the purchase we are about to make is true and, once we have made it, we can use Wormhole to redeem the original frozen on the blockchain of origin (Ethereum or Bsc). If we choose this route the NFT created by Wormhole will be burned after we redeem the original. (we can also use this feature if we have second thoughts about the move we made).
Still this application is in development (with very good timing I would say) and I trust that other features will be added and improved those already existing. As I said, in fact, the transfer is not always successful, let's take my case: I transferred an #NFT purchased on #BSC which is a cool mini-clip, but on Solana is displayed only as an #image. This can create a lack of interest and also some doubts to the eventual buyers because few people know the NFT Origin Verifier function of Wormhole.
CONCLUSIONI
Nonostante qualche pecca da sistemare l'idea di questa piattaforma è molto promettente, credo che la possibilità di trasferire NFT da una blockchain ad un'altra sia la chiave per poter sbloccare totalmente il mercato dell'arte digitale.

Despite some flaws to fix the idea of this platform is very promising, I believe that the possibility to transfer NFT from one blockchain to another is the key to totally unlock the digital art market.
