Questa è una pseudo recensione di un libro o, se preferite, una vera recensione di uno pseudolibro oppure, forse, meglio ancora, una pseudorecensione di uno pseudolibro.

Un giallo che supera il concetto di instant-book, si tratta infatti di un pre-book, forse il primo pre-book fino ad ora pubblicato.
Il romanzo, ben scritto e dalla trama coinvolgente fino all'ultima pagina, è uscito infatti, contrariamente a quello che capita con i classici instant-book, non a pochi mesi, pochi giorni o, addirittura, a poche ore dal fatto di cronaca di cui narra nel dettaglio gli avvenimenti.
Il delitto Robertson è stato dato alle stampe addirittura prima che avvenisse il delitto stesso narrato nel romanzo.
In questo modo i lettori hanno potuto seguire, praticamente in diretta, il delitto della signora Mary Robertson, tranquillamente seduti nella poltrona di casa, davanti ad un caldo fuoco di legna di frassino, sorseggiando un cognac barrique invecchiato venticinque anni in legno di quercia di Slavonia, leggendo i fatti giustappunto quando avvenivano nella realtà.
Ironico, brillante, anticipatore con ogni probabilità di un nuovo genere di letteratura, Reg Kleen ha quindi progettato l'assassinio di Mary Robertson, trascrivendo ogni dettaglio del suo piano nel romanzo e, solo dopo averlo pubblicato, è passato all'azione, mettendo in pratica tutto quello che aveva scritto.
Non prima però di essersi assicurato di aver venduto almeno trentamila copie del suo geniale giallo anticipato.
Ironia della sorte, la signora Mary Robertson, che conosceva il suo assassino, essendo la sua seconda ex-moglie, incuriosita dal titolo e dal nome dell'autore, era una delle trentamila persone che avevano acquistato il romanzo.
Nell'esatto momento in cui veniva uccisa, Mary stava leggendo il passo del libro dove l'autore raccontava l'istante della sua morte e, anche nel romanzo, la morte di Mary avveniva proprio nel momento in cui la vittima stava leggendo il romanzo che parlava della sua morte, esattamente la pagina in cui si narrava il momento preciso del suo omicidio.
Tutto questo è potuto succedere perchè quel genio di Reg Kleen ha pubblicato un geniale pre-book!
Sarebbe bello poter dire che questo è il primo di una lunga serie di pre-book di Reg, ma, come previsto dall'autore nel suo stesso romanzo, dopo sole trentasei ore dall'omicidio il nostro si trovava già rinchiuso in carcere.
Kleen stesso, che ha deciso di cambiare il proprio nome in Reg Bed, per non mischiare la sua storia personale come omicida con quella come autore di pre-book, ha escluso di volersi dedicare a breve alla stesura di un nuovo romanzo.
Ci permettiamo di sugerirgli comunque un titolo per la sua prossima fatica, nel caso dovesse cambiare idea: La fuga di Reg.

Ironic, brilliant, and in all likelihood a forerunner of a new genre of literature, Reg Kleen then planned the assassination of Mary Robertson, transcribed every detail of his plan in the novel and, only after publishing it, did he take action, putting practice everything he wrote.
But not before he made sure he had sold at least thirty thousand copies of his brilliant early thriller.
Ironically, Mrs. Mary Robertson, who knew her killer, being his second ex-wife, intrigued by the title and author's name, was one of the thirty thousand people who had purchased the novel.
At the exact moment she was killed, Mary was reading the passage in the book where the author told the instant of her death and, even in the novel, Mary's death occurred just as the victim was reading the novel that he spoke of his death, exactly the page in which the precise moment of his murder was told.
All this could happen because that genius Reg Kleen has published a brilliant pre-book!
It would be nice to be able to say that this is the first of a long series of Reg's pre-books, but, as predicted by the author in his own novel, after only thirty-six hours from the murder, ours was already locked up in prison.
Kleen himself, who decided to change his name to Reg Bed, so as not to mix his personal history as a murderer with that as a pre-book author, has ruled out wanting to devote himself shortly to writing a new novel.
However, we would like to suggest a title for his next effort, should he change his mind: Reg's escape.
