Questa è una pseudo recensione di un libro o, se preferite, una vera recensione di uno pseudolibro oppure, forse, meglio ancora, una pseudorecensione di uno pseudolibro.

Questo è un romanzo a più mani, infatti dietro allo pseudonimo Ruud Gullit si nasconde un gruppo di 183.738 persone, ognuna delle quali ha scritto solo una parola del romanzo stesso.
Un'opera immane, durata 12 anni, sopratutto per coordinare il lavoro di questo ensemble di autori: tanto c'è voluto per riuscire a trovare una combinazione di parole e frasi con un senso compiuto.
Ma che risultato!!! Tanta fatica è stata premiata da un'opera unica e coinvolgente, che solo 183.738 persone potevano produrre. Un vero peccato che nel frattempo sette siano morte. Non tutti quindi avranno il piacere di vedere i loro sforzi premiati ma le 183.731 che hanno potuto finalmente tenere fra le mani il corposo volume saranno certamente orgogliose del risultato.
Balzato subito in testa alle classifiche di vendita con 183.731 copie vendute il primo giorno (gli autori avevano prenotato ognuno una copia del libro), R è un'opera corale forse ingiustamente catalogata come romanzo storico.
La storia, il plot, è ambientato nel periodo che va dal 12.000 a.C. fino al 10.000 a.C. quando i ghiacciai piano piano si ritirarono e il clima divenne molto più mite; l’uomo, favorito dai mutamenti climatici, divenne pastore e coltivatore.
R narra proprio di questa epopea dell'uomo da cacciatore a coltivatore, delle prime coltivazioni di frumento e dell'addomesticamento dei primi animali contemporaneamente alla nascita dei primi villaggi vicino ai fiumi e alle sorgenti d'acqua, necessaria per le coltivazioni.
In un crescendo incessante di avvenimenti si narrano momenti topici della nostra storia ancestrale, come la nascita del primo germoglio di farro nella piana di Giza o lo squartamento della prima pecora nella zona tra il Tigri e l'Eufrate.
Dietro però al racconto, alle ricostruzioni storiche, basate anche sui ritrovamenti archeologici, non si può non scorgere la metafora che allude chiaramente alla corsa dell'uomo verso lo spazio, dal lancio delle prime navicelle, alla conquista del sistema solare, prodromi di una futura conquista delle stelle da parte dell'uomo moderno.
Ed è proprio su questo secondo piano metaforico che R diventa archetipico e si presenta come uno di quei romanzi che segnano una svolta nella letteratura.
Purtroppo pare difficile che questa bellissima esperienza possa ripetersi, R quindi rimarrà il primo e ultimo romanzo di "Ruud Gullit", sembra infatti problematico ritrovare la comunione di intenti che ha permesso a queste 183.738 persone di produrre un tale capolavoro, non foss'altro per il fatto che 7 nel frattempo sono morte.
Non ci stancheremo comunque mai di leggere e rileggere R, sicuramente ad ogni lettura sarà possibile scovare una sempre nuova metafora di qualcos'altro rispetto al racconto e che alla lettura precedente ci era inavvertitamente sfuggita.

A huge work, which lasted 12 years, above all to coordinate the work of this ensemble of authors: it took so long to be able to find a combination of words and phrases with a complete meaning.
But what a result !!! So much effort was rewarded by a unique and engaging work, which only 183,738 people could produce. A pity that seven have died in the meantime. Not everyone will therefore have the pleasure of seeing their efforts rewarded but the 183,731 who were finally able to hold the full-bodied volume in their hands will certainly be proud of the result.
Immediately jumped to the top of the sales charts with 183,731 copies sold on the first day (the authors had each booked a copy of the book), R is a choral work perhaps unjustly cataloged as a historical novel.
The story, the plot, is set in the period from 12,000 BC. up to 10,000 BC when the glaciers slowly retreated and the climate became much milder; man, favored by climate change, became a shepherd and farmer.
R tells of this epic of man from hunter to farmer, of the first crops of wheat and the domestication of the first animals at the same time as the birth of the first villages near rivers and sources of water, necessary for crops.
In an incessant crescendo of events, topical moments of our ancestral history are narrated, such as the birth of the first spelled sprout in the Giza plain or the quartering of the first sheep in the area between the Tigris and the Euphrates.
However, behind the story, the historical reconstructions, also based on archaeological finds, one cannot fail to see the metaphor that clearly alludes to man's race towards space, from the launch of the first spacecraft, to the conquest of the solar system, harbingers of a future conquest of the stars by modern man.
And it is precisely on this second metaphorical level that R becomes archetypal and presents itself as one of those novels that mark a turning point in literature.
Unfortunately it seems difficult that this beautiful experience can be repeated, so R will remain the first and last novel by "Ruud Gullit", it seems problematic to find the communion of intent that allowed these 183,738 people to produce such a masterpiece, if only for the fact that 7 have died in the meantime.
However, we will never tire of reading and rereading R, surely at each reading it will be possible to find an ever new metaphor of something other than the story and that the previous reading had inadvertently escaped us.
