”You'll own nothing. And you'll be happy” reads a slogan of the World Economic Forum from a few years ago, that makes us understand that many of those in power would like a future in which the average citizen does not own anything, but instead rents , and shares all that is needed for daily living.
A classic example is buying a car: decades ago, it was not unusual to go to the dealership with a pile of cash to buy your own small car, however today they despise even normal payment by bank transfer of the total amount, and push instead to make a loan with one of their "sister" companies, to pay for "our" blessed car in dozens, and in some cases, hundreds of installments.
And this goes for the house, the television, the cell phone, we live in a world on installments, where we are not the true owners of the objects around us, but we are always one payment less towards the coveted goal.
This puts us at the mercy of the lenders, and above all of the variable interest rates, which we have seen soaring in recent times.
The next step would be that we really don't own absolutely nothing, but we rent and rent, from the State and from Multi-National companies, everything we need: this, like everything, leads to positive implications, but also to many negatives.
Among the positive aspects, there are those of the impact on the environment and the reduction of waste: using the same objects several times for several people certainly leads to a reduced impact on the environment, not only in terms of production, but also for the disposal and recycling.
The negative consequences, on the other hand, could be catastrophic: always at the mercy of powers stronger than us, we can lose everything with a click of the mouse, we would no longer be sure of what is ours, of what we can leave to our children, and instead everything can be taken away if we don't obey the madness of the moment.

And you'll be happy” recita uno slogan del World Economic Forum di qualche anno fa, e che ci fa intendere che molti di quelli che sono al potere, vorrebbero un futuro in cui il cittadino medio non è proprietario di nulla, ma invece noleggia , affitta e usa in comune tutto quello che gli serve per il vivere quotidiano.
Un classico esempio è l'automobile: decenni fa, non era inusuale andare in concessionaria con una pila di contanti per comprarsi la propria utilitaria, invece oggi schifano anche il pagamento con bonifico della somma totale, e spingono, invece, a fare un finanziamento con una delle loro società "sorelle", per pagare la "propria" benedetta auto in decine , e in alcuni casi , centinaia di rate.
E questo vale per la casa, il televisore, il cellulare, viviamo in un mondo a rate, dove non siamo i veri possessori degli oggetti che ci circondano, ma siamo sempre una rata in meno verso l'ambito traguardo.
Questo ci mette in balia degli istituti che erogano i finanziamenti, e soprattutto dei tassi d'interesse variabili, che abbia visto aumentare a dismisura negli ultimi tempi.
Il prossimo passo, sarebbe, che proprio non siamo proprietari di un bel nulla, ma affittiamo e noleggiamo, dallo Stato e dalle Multi-Nazionali, tutto ciò di cui abbiamo bisogno: questo, come tutte le cose, porta a risvolti positivi, ma anche a moltissimi negativi.
Tra gli aspetti postivi, ci sono quelli dell'impatto sull'ambiente e la riduzione degli sprechi: usare più volte gli stessi oggetti per più persone, porta sicuramente ad un impatto ridotto sulla ambiente non sono per quanto riguarda la produzione, ma anche per lo smaltimento e il riciclo.
Le conseguenze negative, invece, potrebbero essere catastrofiche: sempre in balia di poteri più forti di noi, possiamo perdere tutto con un click di mouse, non avremmo più la certezza di cosa è nostro, di cosa possiamo lasciare ai nostri figli, e invece ci può essere tolto tutto se non obbediamo alla follia di turno.
