To the innocent and sincere, help always comes from someone unexpected

A voice broke the silence of the room accompanying the slowly widening orange light.

Who are you? Where are you?

Questions came out of Longun's mouth but were lost in the silence that had fallen again on the room.

It was a man, certainly the voice was male; a deep and reassuring voice, but unfamiliar. There were few men in Dreki's court who had access to the towers and, almost all of them, were servants doing manual labor. That voice, though it had barely spoken, belonged to a nobleman, to someone who was not accustomed to serving, but to be served. Unfortunately, Longun had never met anyone like that, Dreki was the only man other than a servant she had ever dealt with, and the one who had spoken was definitely not him.

She immediately stopped thinking about those words and focused on the light that had slowly taken the shape of a door, an orange rectangle that stood out in the blackness of the room. She was afraid, was the unknown on the other side salvation or an even more frightening prison than the present one? The voice still echoed in her mind, help is coming, so he had said. Help...

She was still trying to figure out if she could trust her when she realized that the blackness was taking over again. She stood up and ran, throwing herself into the light, managing to cross it just before it closed behind her.

She was out of breath and felt her heart in her throat as she surveyed the room. An orange light flattened everything, but it was easy to see where he was without having to measure it again by counting steps. Three sides and three corners, it was the North Tower. The door had broken her out of one prison and into another.

She began to talk to herself, maybe the man from before would listen and help her again.

I rebelled against my master because I was tired of being an object. I longed to live, to have the chance to do those things that gave joy to me too and not just to him. I wished to know that I was useful, that I was something of value, but that was not the case.

She paused and strained her ears, but no sound reached her.

When he found out I was no longer malleable he threw me away like a broken shoe, locked me in a dark prison. I tried to escape, but I am a prisoner again.
She sighed, she wished for a gesture, a word from someone then a small blue dot started to move drawing her attention

The road to freedom is full of obstacles

Again that voice, was something about to happen or was his mind already starting to suffer that imprisonment? The blue dot was getting closer and closer, soon he would find out if that was the way out of there.
