For those unaware of what happened a couple of weeks ago to the WLeo-ETH pool on Uniswap, which had raised about USD 430,000, a hacker managed to steal the private keys of the Oracle that manages the contract and printed thousands of WLeo, sent to the pool and exchanged with the Ethereum present there. This led to a consequential drop in the price of WLeo but above all the loss of the ETH of the users involved.
Today the @leofinance team has published a detailed report of the story in which they retrace in detail what happened in those minutes. Fortunately, some users, unsuspected by some anomalous transactions, have sensed the malicious activity of this subject and managed to save their investment by withdrawing the ETH and converting the WLEOs. The Leofinance team managed to close the contract with the Oracle in good time to save around 112 ETH and 250k LEO.
After more than 10 days of investigation, the transaction process leading to different accounts on Binance was reconstructed. Unfortunately, the transactions were divided into small packages so as not to request the KYC on Binance and despite the communications forwarded to the exchange, no response was received. From further investigation it appears that the hack is responsible for a myriad of thefts like this, probably worth millions of euros, and operates on the Ethereum blockchain.
The seriousness of the team is denoted by the accuracy of the investigations carried out to guarantee the truth of the facts, avoiding that the person responsible was within the Hive community, and in addition, the victims of this attack were compensated. Truly an exemplary and not at all obvious gesture, especially in the crypto world.
Put aside the attack immediately, it is time to start again. The importance of being present on Uniswap and having created WLEO, in addition to having liquidity on the market, is getting in touch with a new blockchain, that of Ethereum, to attract new users on Leofinance and Hive. Building bridges with other blockchains is an important building block for interoperability and the countless benefits that this will bring to the ecosystem. For this reason, a new WLEO-ETH pool will be activated on 10 November, adopting many more security tools than the first attempt, guaranteeing new investors rewards for their trust.

Per chi fosse all'oscuro di ciò che è accaduto un paio di settimane fa alla pool WLeo-ETH su Uniswap, che aveva raccolto circa 430.000 USD, un hacker è riuscito a rubare le chiavi private dell'Oracle che gestisce il contratto ed ha stampato migliaia di WLeo, inviati alla piscina e scambiati con gli Ethereum lì presenti. Ciò ha comportato un consequenziale crollo del prezzo di WLeo ma soprattutto la perdita degli ETH degli utenti coinvolti.
Oggi il team di @leofinance ha pubblicato un rapporto dettagliato della vicenda in cui si ripercorre in modo dettagliato ciò che è successo in quei minuti. Per fortuna alcuni utenti, insospettati da alcune transazioni anomale, hanno intuito l'attività maligna di questo soggetto e sono riusciti a mettere in salvo il loro investimento ritirando gli ETH e convertendo i WLEO. Il team di Leofinance è riuscito a chiudere il contratto con l'Oracolo in tempi utili da salvare circa 112 ETH e 250k LEO.
Dopo oltre 10 giorni d'indagini, è stato ricostruito l'iter delle transazioni che conducono a diversi account su Binance. Purtroppo le transazioni sono state suddivise in pacchetti piccoli in modo da non richiedere il KYC su Binance e nonostante le comunicazioni inoltrate all'exchange, nessuna risposta è pervenuta. Da ulteriori indagini sembra che l'hack sia responsabile di una miriade di furti come questo, per valore probabilmente di milioni di euro, e opera sulla blockchain di Ethereum.
La serietà del team si denota dall'accuratezza delle indagini svolte per garantire la verità dei fatti, scongiurando che il responsabile fosse all'interno della comunità di Hive, ed inoltre si è provveduto a risarcire le vittime di questo attacco. Davvero un gesto esemplare e per nulla scontato, specialmente nel mondo crypto.
Messo da parte l'attacco subito, è giunto il momento di ripartire. L'importanza di essere presenti su Uniswap ed aver creato WLEO, oltre ad avere una liquidità sul mercato, è entrare in contatto con una nuova blockchain, quella di Ethereum, per attrarre nuovi utenti su Leofinance e Hive. Creare ponti con le altre blockchain è un tassello importante per l'interoperabilità e gli innumerevoli vantaggi che tutto ciò porterà all'ecosistema. Per questo motivo il 10 Novembre verrà attivata una nuova pool WLEO-ETH, adottando molti strumenti di sicurezza in più rispetto al primo tentativo, garantendo ai nuovi investitori rewards per la loro fiducia.
