source - https://www.racingcircuits.info
L'incognita meteo è sempre in agguato.

The end of an era

Valentino Rossi, after 26 years in the circus, has decided to stop and from next year the world championship will never be the same again.
Stats are impressive!
9 world titles in the 4 categories (125, 250, 500 and MotoGP), 5 in a row between 2001 and 2005.
On the 424 races (to date) 235 times on the podium of which 115 on the top step in addition to 65 pole positions
Incredible numbers that only a legend like Giacomo Agostini has exceeded (15 titles in 13 seasons) but in a totally different era of motorcycling in which a rider could race in several categories.
But what we will miss without Valentino are

source - https://www.adnkronos.com
the eternal smile even in the darkest days of his career,

source - https://www.sky.it
the contagious enthusiasm,

source - https://www.visordown.com

source - https://www.fanclubvalentinorossi.net

source - https://www.crash.net
the crazy celebrations after the victories,

source - https://www.visordown.com

source - https://www.twitter.com

source - https://gpxtra.com
the incredible overtaking

source - https://www.corriere.it
and all that "spectacle",
imitated with many limits by the other riders, who have made MotoGP to be discovered even to people less interested in two wheels.
Needless to say, the announcement was in the air... and from a certain point of view it is a relief, because seeing him in the lower parts of the standings, an area that does not suit a rider like him, even for fans is really a regret.
I'm honest, I don't know if I will follow the world championship so closely next year. I don't see riders who excite me.
Many winners but no champions
Because you will always remember a champion. There have been "impromptu" winners like Kenny Roberts jr, Alex Crivillè or the last year Johan Mir, but in a few years they will be statistics.
Riders like Rainey, Doohan, Schwantz, Rossi himself, Marco Simoncelli ... who have won a world championship, a race .... we'll remember them all lifetime because they made you excited.
And emotions go beyond any statistic, training, victory or talent.

I stop it here and focus, as far as possible, on the current season and on our contest.
I must admit that I am behind in both the publication and the management of statistics.
Unfortunately, the time was very limited and I was unable to work as I wanted.
I will take advantage of these days off to make a recap of the season so far
For now I present to you the next scheduled race.

After the summer break we leave Austria, the Styrian Grand Prix on the track owned by the famous power drink.

source - https://www.racingcircuits.info
Track favorable to Ducati who have won continuously since 2016, the year in which the old A1-Ring became, in fact, RedBull Ring, returning to the World Championship.
The unknown weather is always lurking.
At the moment the first free practices see the Aprilia in great shape

As already mentioned, during the summer break I will do a recap post of the season including the contest ranking

Now I wait for you
