Nel post di oggi vorrei farvi conoscere delle cose che non bisogna fare assolutamente al coniglio dei consigli ho imparato nel tempo nella gestione della mia coniglietta Star.
Una delle prime cose da non fare e di non farlo mai sdraiare sulla schiena perché quando il coniglio si trova sdraiato sulla schiena , lo si induce un una paralisi ,anche se possono sembrare tranquilli non prenderli mai in questo modo di gli studi fatti hanno dimostrato che in questa posizione coniglio è in uno stato di trance.
Il battito cardiaco praticamente aumenta notevolmente e questo significa che il coniglio è in un estremo stato di stress , questo non va per niente bene infatti anche se chiude gli occhi non sta dormendo, è consapevole di ciò che accade ha paura, e anche se non reagisce può provare dolore, molti veterinari so che usano questa tecnica per immobilizzare i conigli.
Può essere utile per procedure come radiografie in cui deve stare fermo ma se non siete esperti non fatelo il coniglio potrebbe anche morire per shock o infarto, invece delle cose da fare sicuramente è accarezzarlo per fargli piacere ,una cosa che lo fa stare davvero tranquillo è proprio accarezzarlo specialmente sulla testa e sulle guance.
Un'altra cosa da non fare e tenerlo troppo in gabbia, perché è uno degli errori più comuni e anche perché la gabbia può causare a lungo termine molti problemi di salute, tipo l'obesità, tipo le malformazioni, oppure crescita eccessiva delle unghie ma soprattutto perché i conigli sono animali socievoli curiosi e giocherelloni e per cui hanno bisogno di esplorare l'ambiente di interagire con voi di correre e saltare.
Un'altra cosa che non bisogna assolutamente fare al coniglio è non fargli il bagno sembrerà una cosa banale ma fare il bagno ai conigli è molto pericoloso!! il pelo dei conigli è diverso da quello dei cani ci mette molto ma molto più tempo ad asciugarsi.
Per questo la sua pelle resta bagnata e fredda per tanto tempo e provoca un forte abbassamento della temperatura corporea e può portare ipotermia o polmonite, oltre a questo i conigli si spaventano molto nell'acqua e rischiano di avere dei propri shock, consiglio di usare invece una spazzola per pulirlo e delle salviettine ,anche perché ricordo che i conigli si puliscono da soli perciò questo bisogno di lavarli non c'è bisogno, però spazzolarli spesso per evitare che ingeriscono pelo leccandosi ,anche perché ingerire il pelo sarebbe un gran problema perché li possono portare a vomitare infatti si formano proprio delle palle di pelo dello stomaco che causano blocchi gastrointestinali.
