E' difficile, in queste tristi contingenze trovare notizie che, pur nella loro tragicita' rappresentino avamposti di civilta', passi avanti verso un futuro se non migliore perlomeno non peggiore.
Tutti i giornali l'hanno chiamata Anna anche se non credo sia il vero nome.
E' la prima italiana che ha avuto accesso al suicidio assistito in Italia con i costi a carico del servizio sanitario nazionale.
C'erano gia' state due persone che avevano potuto accedervi ma avevano dovuto pagarsi i farmaci letali.
E' avvenuto in Friuli Venezia Giulia, occorre specificare che non esiste una legge nazionale in materia, ne' credo che ci sara' con questo governo di scappati di casa, quindi ogni regione si muove
in modo autonomo.
Fino ad oggi, come documenta l'associazione Luca Coscioni, chi
sceglie di percorrere questa strada deve andarai n Olanda o in Svizzera, i costi superano i 10 mila euro, non tutti se lo possono permettere.
Anna aveva una sclerosi multipla in uno stadio terminale, non era piu' vita, ma una sofferenza indicibile senza fine.
Credo, da sempre, che abbiamo tutto il diritto, a fronte di situazioni mediche senza alcuna via d'uscita, di scegliere quando andarsene.
Non deve essere una stato, una regione, dei preti o un presunto Dio a decidere quando qualcuno debba smettere di soffrire.
Si puo' disquisire se deve toccare allo stato accollarsi i costi di una decisione tanto personale ma visto che, suppongo, quei farmaci e l'assistenza di un medico abbiano un costo si rischierebbe di
tornare al discorso di prima sul chi puo' permetterselo e chi invece non ne ha le possiblita'.
Credo sia un grosso passo avanti, anche se in assenza di una legge occorre sperare che la propria regione abbia personaggi che sappiano agire di coscienza, Anna ci ha messo due anni a superare le barriere burocratiche, non e' stato un percorso facile ma i friulani, forse per la loro natura mitteleuropea hanno dato una
lezione a molti.

I believe it is a big step forward, even if in the absence of a law one must hope that one's region has people who know how to act conscientiously, it took Anna two years to overcome the bureaucratic barriers, it was not an easy path but the Friulians , perhaps due to their Central European nature they gave a
lesson to many.
