Continuarían preguntando mis lectores, bueno, un jonrón depende del talento, además de la fuerza de un jugador y cuando sucede la emoción va depender de algunas situaciones del juego ¿Ejemplo? Si vas perdiendo por diez carreras, un jonrón solitario no os emocionará mucho. ¿Y un no-hitter? Digamos que es algo dependiente del talento del lanzador y la emoción va "in crescendo" a medida que la hazaña está siendo bordada, pero, si es en contra de vuestro equipo...en el octavo inning te retirarás del estadio si estás perdiendo por más de cinco carreras (solo los puristas se quedan). Pero una dejada en el terreno y más si ésta se produce mediante un jonrón de oro, no te dejará indiferente por varios días, si has ido al estadio. Todavía no olvido el hit de oro del receptor de los Leones del Caracas Henry Blanco ante República Dominicana para dejar en el terreno de juego a los Tigres del Licey 4 carreras a 3, en la Serie del Caribe de 2006 acá en Maracay.

Así las cosas, ayer se produjeron ¡4 juegos! con ésta caracteristicas y 2 venezolanos fueron claves para el resultado de sus equipos. El más dramático de todos, el jonrón de oro con las bases llenas de Ryan McMahon ante el relevista Jason Adam de Tampa Bay ¿Por qué dramático? Bueno, el mismo McMahon había sido clave en la remontada lograda abriendo el noveno por los Rays, cuando cometió un error que sirvió para que los peces anotaran la carrera de irse arriba y voltear un partido que ya estaba en la nevera 6 carreras a 2. Consiguió pizarra en contra 7-6 y las bases llenas cuando fue a batear en el noveno, lo demás es historia y el hombre se redimió espectacularmente. Entretanto, en San Francisco, el segunda base venezolano Thairo Estrada vino a batear en el noveno inning con hombre en primera y el juego empatado a dos carreras por lado contra los archienemigos Padres de San Diego. El relevista dominicano Enyel De Los Santos le lanzó una "sweeper" de 94 MPH que se quedó en el medio del plato y Estrada la devolvió contra la pared del jardín izquierdo. La corrida del hombre en primera fue clave para anotar con el doble de Estrada. Me contenta por San Francisco quienes dan señales alentadoras.

Dominican reliever Enyel De Los Santos threw him a 94 MPH sweeper that stayed in the middle of the plate and Estrada returned it against the left field wall. The run by the man on first was key to scoring on Estrada's double. I'm happy for San Francisco who are showing encouraging signs.

En Atlanta, Travis d’Arnaud le pegó duro a la bola y la envió contra la pared, para que los Bravos dejaran en el terreno a los D-Backs de Arizona en el décimo episodio. Fue dramática la victoria porque los nativos estaban detrás al comienzo del noveno por dos carreras y lograron empatar la acción al finalizar ese capítulo. Es el tipo de derrota que desmoraliza al contrario, tanto como la sufrida por los Rays. Ronald Acuña Jr. ha estado frío con el bate y su despertar es esperado con ansias. Por último, y digamos, el menos emocionante de las dejadas en el terreno (si eso existe), fue un boleto con las bases llenas recibido por el catcher venezolano William Contreras, para otorgar la victoria 6 carreras a 5 por los Cerveceros de Milwaukee ante los Marineros de Seattle, y ¿por qué menos emocionante? Bueno, el relevista mexicano Andrés Muñoz vino totalmente descontrolado y no consiguió el plato ante cuatro toleteros contrarios, lo que significó la anotación forzada al permitir boletos consecutivos.
