I remember in 1980, my mom bought a sound system on credit, I was barely twelve years old and the first record I bought with great effort and after giving up eating many snacks was Blizzard of Ozz, my mother to see its cover almost took me to church to confess for all my sins. Needless to say, I had no idea who that character was on the cover of that album. Now let's get into the subject:
Recuerdo que en 1980, mi mamá compro a crédito un equipo de sonido, yo apenas pisaba los doce años de edad y el primer disco que compre con mucho esfuerzo y después de dejar de comer muchas meriendas fue Blizzard of Ozz, mi madre al ver su portada casi me lleva a la iglesia a confesarme por todos mis pecados. Demás esta decir que no tenia ni idea de quien era ese personaje que estaba en la portada de ese disco. Ahora entremos al tema:
The unique, seminal and foundational singer of Black Sabbath who is already 72 years old: Ozzy Osbourne, the madman par excellence, presents a new musical production called Patient Number 9. Quite an achievement for a deaf rocker, diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, with limited mobility, and who is recovering from two surgeries he underwent last year.
Osbourne draws inspiration from the mental health problems experienced by his wife Sahron when she attempted suicide and had to be committed to a medical institution.
For me, the overproduction is the only point against this album, which, no matter how you listen to it, seeks to update Ozzy's sound, and the producer of this work is Andrew Watt.
In this production Ozzy's voice stands out and sounds in good shape, but it is very distant from the albums I heard of him in the 80's, where the sound of the musician was more handmade and less technical. Here is an example with the song Crazy Train from Ozzy Osbourne's first solo album: Blizzard of Ozz.
El único, seminal y fundacional cantante de Black Sabbath que ya pisa los 72 años de edad: Ozzy Osbourne, el madman por excelencia, presenta una nueva producción musical llamada Patient Number 9. Todo un logro para un rockero sordo, diagnosticado con la enfermedad de Parkinson, con una movilidad limitada, y que se esta recuperándo de dos intervenciones quirúrgicas a las que se sometió el año pasado.
Osbourne toma como inspiración los problemas de salud mental experimentados por su esposa Sahron cuando intentó suicidarse y debió ser internada en una institución médica.
Para mi la sobreproducción es el único punto en contra de este disco que por donde se escuche busca actualizar el sonido de Ozzy.El productor de este trabajo se llama Andrew Watt.
En esta producción se destaca una voz de Ozzy que suena en forma, pero que se encuentra muy distanciado a los discos que escuche de él en los años 80, en donde el sonido de la músico era como más artesanal y menos tecnificado. Aquí un ejemplo con la canción Crazy Train del primer disco de Ozzy Osbourne en solitario: Blizzard of Ozz.
Ozzy has as support Randy Rhoads in his maximum expression, one of the best guitarists that has ever existed and that influenced many others in the genre of Heavy Metal.
However I must say that for these times Patient Number 9 is an excellent work of a living legend of a genre that he himself helped to institute in music with the group Black Sabbath, Heavy Metal.
Ozzy tiene como apoyo a Randy Rhoads en su máxima expresión, uno de los mejores guitarristas que ha existido y que influyo a muchos otros en el género del Heavy Metal.
Sin embargo debo decir que para estos tiempos que corren Patient Number 9 es un excelente trabajo de una leyenda viva de un genero que el mismo ayudo a instituir en la música junto al grupo Black Sabbath, el Heavy Metal.

In my opinion, Degradation Rules and No Escape From Now are the best tracks of this work, reminiscent of the work of Ozzy Osbourne and Tomy Iommi in Black Sabbath. The first track is very reminiscent of Sabbath's The Wizard and War Pigs and also Ozzy Osbourne returns to play harmonica, Robert Trujillo presents a bass playing style similar to Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath).
En mi concepto Degradation Rules y No Escape From Now son los mejores temas de esta obra al rememorar el trabajo de Ozzy Osbourne y Tomy Iommi en Black Sabbath. El primer tema recuerda mucho a The Wizard y War Pigs de Sabbath y además Ozzy Osbourne vuelve a tocar la harmónica, Robert Trujillo presenta un estilo de tocar el bajo parecido al de Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath).

The album as a whole is very enjoyable, but I focused on the songs that impressed me the most. This is a very well crafted work with superb performances and Ozzy's vocals subjected to modern technological advances.
