Through the Years || A través de los Años
In this opportunity, I want to share with all of you a selection of photos that I have taken over time, of the youngest of my nieces.
She is the youngest of the three daughters of my brother and his wife, who have been living abroad for more than a decade, just like millions of Venezuelans who have left the country in search of a better future for their children and themselves.
Recently, my niece turned 11 years old, and since she was born in the country they chose as home, there have been few times that I have been able to share in this time with my brother, as well as with his family, first, while they complied with all the immigration requirements to obtain residency, and later citizenship, in addition to the closing of the air borders as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, since March 2020 and during most of 2021.
The last time they were in the country was at the end of last year and beginning of this one, for the celebration of the Christmas and New Year's holidays, and I really do not know when we can coincide again in a new family reunion, since Venezuela is not within the list of countries to which my brother usually goes frequently, because the company for which he works, does not have offices or representatives in the country, in addition, his older daughters finished their university studies and currently have work obligations in the country that adopted them.
The photographs are not in strict chronological order, besides, I do not have photos of their first years of life, except for the ones they shared on their social networks.
En esta oportunidad, quiero compartir con todos ustedes una selección de fotos que he tomado a través del tiempo, de la menor de mis sobrinas.
Ella es la más joven de las tres hijas de mi hermano y de su esposa, quienes tienen más de una década residenciados en el extranjero, al igual que millones de venezolanos que han salido del país en busca de un mejor futuro para sus hijos y para sí mismos.
Recientemente, mi sobrina cumplió 11 años, y dado que nació en el país que escogieron como hogar, han salido pocas las veces que he podido compartir en este tiempo con mi hermano, así como con su familia, en primer lugar, mientras cumplían con todos los requisitos migratorios exigidos para obtener la residencia, y posteriormente la ciudadanía, además, del cierre de las fronteras aéreas como consecuencia de la pandemia del Covid-19, desde el mes de Marzo de 2020 y durante gran parte de 2021.
La última vez que estuvieron en el país, fue a finales del año pasado y principios de este, para la celebración de las fiestas navideñas y de Fin de Año, y realmente desconozco cuando podamos coincidir nuevamente en un nuevo reencuentro familiar, dado que Venezuela no está dentro de la lista de países a los que suele acudir con frecuencia, porque la empresa para la cual trabaja, no posee oficinas o representantes en el país, además, sus hijas mayores culminaron sus estudios universitarios y actualmente tienen obligaciones laborales en el país que las adoptó.
Las fotografías no están en estricto orden cronológico, además, no poseo fotos de sus primeros años de vida, con excepción de las que compartían por sus redes sociales.
As I have described in previous posts, I use the image editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to modify at my convenience and pleasure the original images, looking for a result up to my expectations, which I do not always achieve, however, I hope you like them as much as I do.
Como he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, empleo las herramientas de edición de imágenes que me ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para modificar a mi conveniencia y entero placer las imágenes originales, buscando un resultado a la altura de mis expectativas, lo cual no siempre logro, sin embargo, espero que estas les agraden tanto como a mí.
