Hello everyone!
Amazing wood bark texture, isn't it? I took some photos, shot in monochrome mode. The texture of the bark of the tree is more clearly visible. It is the protective layer of the trunk and branches of the tree.
The function of the bark is to regulate the breathing of the plant, and to protect the tree from the outside environment and excessive water evaporation.
The bark protects the inner layers from insects that damage it, as well as from damage by parasitic fungi. The bark cracks when pulled during growth.
See, the surface of the trunks has a variety of patterns. As the tree ages, the thickness of the bark increases, causing the outer layers to continually peel off.
