Óptica inquieta || Restless optics [ESP-ING]

Captar momentos es una práctica, no hay duda de ello; es una experimentación continúa. La manera como nos relacionamos con el dispositivo influirá en los resultados, la conexión con el medio externo pareciera ser distinta. ¿Qué determina que realmente hagamos una foto u otra con un objetivo específico? Pareciera que el dispositivo y el objetivo que usas para hacer la fotografía te hace mirar de una forma particular, es como que se define o condiciona una parte dentro de sí. El acto de componer se encausa a una lógica subconsciente para el acto de crear la fotografía.

Capturing moments is a practice, there is no doubt about it; it is a continuous experimentation. The way we relate to the device will influence the results, the connection with the external environment seems to be different. What determines that we really make a photo or another with a specific objective? It seems that the device and the lens you use to take the photograph makes you look in a particular way, it is as if it defines or conditions a part within itself. The act of composing is channeled into a subconscious logic for the act of creating the photograph.

Durante mucho tiempo me he condicionado a mi cámara réflex, usualmente utilizando un lente 50mm, sin embargo, me dio la oportunidad de hacer fotos con mi teléfono para salirme un poco de la caja. Vengo analizando que, además que el dispositivo te condiciona, de cierta forma, a mirar de manera específica, según las condiciones técnicas, empiezas a mirar distinto y de manera singular. En un inicio me parecía que traicionaba mi estilo fotográfico, que me arriesgaba demasiado, pero, realmente, ha sido una práctica interesante porque se empieza a mirar de diferente.

For a long time I have been conditioned to my SLR camera, usually using a 50mm lens, however, it gave me the opportunity to take pictures with my phone to get out of the box a little bit. I have been analyzing that, in addition to the fact that the device conditions you, in a certain way, to look in a specific way, depending on the technical conditions, you start to look differently and in a singular way. At the beginning it seemed to me that I was betraying my photographic style, that I was taking too many risks, but, really, it has been an interesting practice because you start to look differently.

Cada fotografía, fuera de mis condiciones técnicas ideales, se ha vuelto una excepción a la regla propia, un carácter nuevo que se viene desarrollando, creando conexiones nuevas, expandiendo el ojo fotográfico. Este ejercicio fotográfico se ha vuelto interesante, ya que la practicidad del teléfono permite que puedas hacer la foto caminando, en el bus, viviendo el día a día; simplemente es el ojo en constante movimiento que busca una imagen y no la busca a la vez.

Each photograph, outside of my ideal technical conditions, has become an exception to its own rule, a new character that is developing, creating new connections, expanding the photographic eye. This photographic exercise has become interesting, since the practicality of the phone allows you to take the picture walking, on the bus, living the day to day; it is simply the eye in constant movement that looks for an image and does not look for it at the same time.

Hasta ahora me parece que el medio influye en la captura de las imágenes, es como una especie de sugestión. Tomando en cuenta que todas nuestras particularidades personales son un reflejo de nuestro mundo interno, y que todo factor externo, a través de los sentidos, es capaz de influir en nosotros, pudiera existir la posibilidad y la duda que la fijación que tenemos por fotografiar algo en específico sea una reflejo de una imagen de nuestra psique. ¿Lo que fotografiamos es una construcción mezclada entre la imagen física y la psíquica?

So far it seems to me that the medium influences the capture of images, it is like a kind of suggestion. Taking into account that all our personal particularities are a reflection of our inner world, and that every external factor, through the senses, is capable of influencing us, there could be the possibility and the doubt that the fixation we have for photographing something specific is a reflection of an image of our psyche. What we photograph is a mixed construction between the physical and the psychic image?

Esta es mi propuesta para el reto #monomad. Un ejercicio fotográfico de reflexión interna. Las fotos han sido capturadas durante caminatas reflexivas en Duitama, Colombia. Usé la cámara de un teléfono Motorola g22, editadas en Silver Efex Pro con Adobe Lightroom.

This is my proposal for the #monomad challenge. A photographic exercise of inner reflection. The photos have been captured during reflective walks in Duitama, Colombia. I used the camera of a Motorola g22 phone, edited in Silver Efex Pro with Adobe Lightroom.
