Sesamoides spathulifolia is one of those little wildflowers that can be appreciated fully from up close.

As it grows it spreads and looks just like a pile of some mess mixed up with grasses and tiny flowers.
The first thing to notice is the buzz around them. The flowers are absolutely loved by all kinds of insects especially that they are one of the very first ones to bloom and provide some food in spring.
The flower stem is maybe 15 cm in length with tiny blooms on top. The outside petals are quite small pure white. The inside stamens are very intense yellow, almost orange and they form a cluster.
Quite the view. And since those are in back and white you will have to trust me on this one, or ask uncle Google.
Here is a little bonus shot with a tiny little wild geranium in the middle. The flowers on the main stem already faded and just the young seed pod is left. They have adorable, light purple blooms.
