What a year this week has been. Had me a nice case of writer's block and then the news out of Texas didn't help things a bit. Made me want to rant and carry on but as cathartic as that might be it generally doesn't make for good writing.
Yesterday was the two year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd and Sunday will make two years since my first taste of tear gas, both of which cast a long shadow on this week.
Decided I needed a break from all the heavy shit that's been happening so I had to edit some photos from my last visit to Washington DC. The little girl on the scooter was definitely having fun, she was going on an adventure whether her parents wanted her to or not.

Porta-pot parties are always a good time! Looked like it was just getting started. There's always one at the Kentucky Derby, they like to have races on top of them in the infield. They even give out participation awards, everybody who competes gets their very own set of handcuffs and a free trip to jail. There wasn't enough booze flowing for that in DC though.
The nice thing about DC is that even if you somehow manage to forget what country you're in, there's always someone around who's happy to sell you a shirt to remind you.
No mafia y'all! The hell does that mean? Just say no to mafia? No mafia here? Never did cipher out what this was trying to say but there were similarly improvised signs saying the same thing on each corner of one particular intersection.
Think somebody must've rung the dinner bell, y'all better get in line unless you want the scraps. Think I'd better find some vittles too, y'all stay safe out there.
