Abortion

There's few things in American politics and culture that can incite more passion and disagreement than abortion. Ever since the Supreme Court handed down the Roe vs. Wade in 1973 there's been constant attempts to overturn or undermine it. The success of these has waxed and waned over the years but the efforts have never flagged.

The new law that recently went into effect in Texas effectively deputizing the entire state into the effort to stop abortion is only the latest and most threatening of these efforts. The Supreme Court's failure to stay the law pending their ruling has damn near effectively outlawed abortion in Texas.

In a little over an hour from now, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett will be meeting here in Louisville. I'm not privy to their agenda but I don't think there's any way it bodes well. I'm about to head downtown to do a little marching and photo taking as some of us try and remind those two that abortion is health care.

On a related note, check out Plan C or https://abortionpillinfo.org/ for more information about medication abortion and self managed abortions.
