Hello hiver
Hello everyone, how are you
I'm back with a black and white photo of me that you might like and this is my entry #monomad
The people of Sumba Island have a unique dance called the kataga dance, a traditional dance
This is a war attraction dance that is quite distinctive and popular in West Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara Province.
The Kataga dance is performed by eight
male dancers wearing traditional Sumba costumes.
In a marching formation, the dancers are seen equipped with weapons in the form of swords and shields.
This kataga dance is more dominated by the dancer's movements while swinging a sword and jumping leg movements and body movements as if avoiding attacks from opponents.
Accompanied by the rhythm of hitting the gong, the dancers look excited while emitting very loud screams when attacking their opponents, thus making this dance exotic.
This kataga dance tells about the victory in the war between one tribe and another.
This kataga dance performance is usually shown at events such as traditional events, welcoming guests and cultural festivals.
