Danau Lut (Sea) Tawar in Takengon City, Aceh Tengah (Indonesia) has a story that never ends. Besides being beautiful, Lake Lut Tawar holds many mysteries.

On the edge of the lake, there is a legend of Putri Pukes, a beautiful princess who later turned to stone because she did not heed her mother's message.

There is also the story of a mermaid who is called by the community by the name of Putri Ijo. Not only Putri Ijo, people also believe in the existence of a terrible figure named Lembide.

The local community believes that this Lembide creature is also one of the guardians of Lake Lut Tawar. The existence of this Lembide is still not proven true, local people believe that Lembide is a figure that is similar to the blood-sucking Dracula.

Besides Lembide and Putri Ijo, it is said that in this lake there is also a creature resembling a dragon who is the guardian of the lake.

The whole mystery story makes Lake Lut Tawar even more exotic. A sunny morning, I and a friend explored the outskirts of Lake Lut Tawar and life in Lake Lut Tawar and its surroundings.

Behind the Canon EOS 1100D camera, I watched the surface of Lake Lut Tawar shining silver in the sunlight. The air in Takengon City, which used to be cool, that morning was stinging.

In one corner of the lake with an area of 70 km square meters, there are no fishermen fishing for fish. I believe they are on the other side. In fact, the existence of fishermen with boats and traditional fishing tools is one of the attractions of Lake Lut Tawar.[]
