Monomad: 'Dead Man's Fingers in the Valley of Death'

These are the images I'll be submitting for today's #monomad challenge.

When I saw that, I was immediately transported into a fantasy world. It felt like I was in the valley of death, where newly slaughtered human bodies were buried. However, their fingers protruded from the surface, as if they wanted to ask for help or mercy from the executioners who were about to slaughter them before they died. If it happens in real life, it's extremely frightening, for sure!

Actually, they are mushrooms from the Xylaria kingdom of fungi, also known as the "dead man's fingers" fungus. I found them while out for a walk in the woods this afternoon.
