Mint infusion of different varieties ideal for after Christmas meals // Infusión de menta de diferentes variedades ideal para luego de las comidas Navideñas

¡Buenas tardes querida comunidad!

Good afternoon dear community! Today is my first post in this beautiful space dedicated to herbs, something that I love with my life and that for some time I have been able to research and learn about them...

They were always part of my history and my childhood, especially when my grandparents gave me digestive herbal tea so that my stomach ache from eating so quickly would go away (it was all to be able to go out to play) and at parties after At dinner, before the toast, she also made a pot of assorted mints tea for the whole family.

In the two images above we can see 2 varieties of peppermint, very similar due to their physical appearance, but very different in their aroma and leaf shape, some more serrated than the other and they are also the only two varieties with a reddish stem and some leaves of the same color.

These mints can measure between 30 and 70 cm in height, they have dark green petiolate and oval leaves with reddish veins.

The flowers are spike-shaped and purple or pink in color, they like moist and fertile soils, they do not like the sun excessively and they can be divided by stolons that grow underground on the ground, and they sprout towards the surface, they are it can divide by root and can also grow in water without chemicals and with organic fertilizers.

They are used to relieve heaviness, stomach problems, gas, bad breath, menstruation discomfort, gastrointestinal spasms, weakness from being in bed for a long time due to illness, mint is magic, lift the mood and sense of well-being increases.

It is used for fatigue, oral and eye infections and toothache, migraine or headaches and externally, it is used for muscle and joint pain, for cramps, bumps, wounds, eczema, neuralgia, hives.

It is used in infusions of leaves directly from the dry or fresh plant, in tincture and vapors. The essential oil, diluted, is used to massage areas with a lot of muscle pain. The leaves crushed with mortar are used to heal wounds.

The other two varieties of mint are, the first Horse Mentra or longuifolia, it can measure more than one meter in height, its flowers also grow by lilac spikes, it has a very pleasant aroma to the touch of the leaf.

It is used as an antispasmodic, spectorant, carminative, digestive, aperitif, stimulant. It is used for abdominal bloating, indigestion, menstrual cramps, and gas. Also to treat flu states, asthma and bronchitis, as an expectorant.

The other is a variety of good grass with a variegated leaf, it is not very seen, and I love it, because it is the one with the most mint aroma and the one that is most beautiful in the garden. It has wrinkled, toothed leaves, opposite like all mints, but the difference is that the Good Grass has villi on the stem and part of the leaves, in addition its flowers grow in spikes and can be lilac, pink or white, in this case the The flowers are white, you can see them in the photos below, and differentiate them from the Longuifolia flowers because they are lilac in color and grow differently.

Good grass tolerates excessive sun, mild weather, and clay soils unlike peppermints. The good grass plant grows in the field and is explained by underground stolons, which can become invasive.

It is recommended as a stimulant, tonic, astringent, digestive, carminative, for stomach heaviness and that feeling of indulgence, just for these dates when we overindulge in meals. You can use the fresh or dried leaves (I love them fresh). And it is also used as a filling of leaves crushed with mortar to heal wounds.

There the flowers are differentiated, the first image is of the longuifolia, and the second one of the variegated good grass.

Next we will look for several leaves of these mints to prepare a delicious digestive tea for my menstrual cramps.

We will place them in a cup, and we will put freshly boiled water to release all the juice and its essential oils.

We cover the cup, I do it with a saucer, I place it on top and leave it for a few minutes so that the flavors and aromas are concentrated, then we sweeten to taste.

And now you are ready to enjoy it! At any time of the day, it is ideal for after eating, because it is super digestive, and it is also very rich.

Once you get used to using natural medicine, I can assure you that you will never want to take a pharmaceutical drug that you do not know what chemicals were added to it.
