El día de hoy quiero compartirles un cover VideoLetra que he preparado de la canción "Carmensita", de un artista Venezolano-estadounidense llamado Davendra Banhart. Es una canción muy loca con una letra que prácticamente no tiene sentido, utiliza muchas metáforas que casi no conectan entre una frase y otra, es como una especie de parodia, de hecho había leído en un articulo que el videoclip de esta canción se trato de una parodia al Hollywood de los 70s. El videoclip de esta canción cuenta con la presencia de la famosa actriz Natalie Portman, quien en su momento fue novia de este cantante. Aunque realmente la calidad de producción de este vídeo no estuvo muy elaborada que digamos, como ya mencione, era mas bien una parodia que solo se prestaba para hacer cosas graciosas o algo parecido, pero de todos modos contar con la presencia de Natalie Portman fue un trampolín super importante, ya que el video tuvo repercusión en el mundo entero. Esta canción me trae buenos recuerdos de hace unos cuantos años atrás cuando yo tocaba en una banda de covers, y fue mas o menos en ese tiempo que descubrí esta canción y a este artista...Me parecía muy extraña esa forma de cantar pero a la vez me gustaba muchísimo, al igual que la melodía y el ritmo, son demasiado pegajosos, incluso al día de hoy sigo difrutando escucharla. Davendra Banhart es un artista muy bueno, solo que su trabajo no ha sido tan reconocido, digamos que no hace música muy comercial, y eso es lo que me gusta, que mantiene siempre su esencia. El disco Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon fue grabado en California en el año 2007...Lanzado ese mismo año. Llegó a alcanzar un importantisimo puesto en el ranking de "Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007". Actualmente Davendra tiene una banda llamada "Spiritual Bonerz", en la cual también es integrante el cantante brasilero Rodrigo Amarante, quien interpreta el tema "Tuyo", tema oficial de la serie Narcos en Netflix.
