Squash and its Edible Parts

Hello everyone, specially here in @aseanhive community.

Living in a tropical country is a previlege . I thanked God so much for planting me here in the Philippines. My country is very abundant and blessed with God's perfect creation. One of them that I am going to show you today is the squash plant.

Most of the squash plants are crawling on the ground. What my mother had is an overhead squash. It grew outside her kitchen and guided it to climb on a libres tree so it won't be stepped upon.

We only waited three months for it to bear fruit, and now some are mature and we cooked a delicious viand with it.

The fruit, the tops and the flowers are edible! This is how great the squash is. To be able to eat the tops, one must peel it from the hairy skin.

I can't remember myself eating the flowers because I want it to bear fruit, and I never liked to pick any flowers.

Squash flowers only last a day.
With a successful pollination the flower will become a fruit then it will mature.

There is a lot of ways to cook squash but I personally like it on a soup.

I hope my post made you familiar with the plant.

Much love,
