My Scooter's Tyre Troubles

This morning, I had a meeting with a customer located in Ampang. Travelling to Ampang took me approximately an hour of riding distance from my house. I arrived at the customer's place at precisely 9 am. However, the meeting is scheduled to start at 9:30 am.

When I arrived at the customer building, I parked my scooter at the designated parking area for motorcycles. Since I had some extra time before the meeting, I sat down in the lobby and double-checked my presentation slide. The most typical mistake is putting the wrong customer name inside the presentation slide.

After the meeting, I returned to the motorcycle parking area and noticed my scooter's rear tire had worn out. I was taken aback to see my scooter tire tread in that condition, given that my scooter is my primary mode of transportation. The tire is not safe to continue using for an extended period.

As I had two hours before my next meeting, I decided to make a pit stop at Jalan Sentul to purchase a new pair of tires. Jalan Sentul is well known among the locals as motorcycle parts heaven. I carefully ride my scooter to Jalan Sentul. Once I reached there, I immediately went to the first workshop I saw and asked for the price of new tires.

I also informed the sales assistant of my budget and asked him to recommend two brand tire options. He requested a few minutes to check within their POS system.

After a few minutes, he returned with the two tire brands recommendation. The first one was from Cheetah King, that will cost me MYR320 for both front and rear tires. The second one was from Maxxis, which was pricier at MYR480 and also for both front and rear tires.

Since Maxxis's price is almost out of my budget windows, I decided to buy the Cheetah King tires and proceed to make the payment at the workshop. The mechanic then took my scooter inside the workshop.

He then proceeded to remove my old tires and replaced them with new ones. However, I was surprised to see that he had to take out my scooter's exhaust to remove the rear tire, something I had never seen before.

It took the mechanic around 40 minutes to replace both of the tires and perform the standard tests after installation. Once he finished, I hurried to my next meeting. It will be another 30 minutes of riding time to reach the next meeting location.

Overall, the service was prompt and met my satisfaction.
