Sea Food Cafes By The Sea

The sea food cafe on the Kedonganan Beach is called Warung Happy Gen. It's one of many restaurants that placed on the sand over looking the sea. A great location for sea food dining with such relax atmosphere.

The entrance of the restaurant was quite simple. There were only the sign with the name of the restaurant with a board that said "Full Reserved" in front of the dilapidated bamboo gate. I walked pass the gate to the restaurant to see all the tables were nearly occupied by customers. (Thank God, I made a reservation).

entrance to the cafe.

A friendly staff with constant smile on his face welcomed us. (I was there with three clients). He showed us our table and then he told us to choose the fish then the restaurant will cook it right away. We choose the fish (well, it was more than fish, there were calamary, sea shells, and prawns).

All the fish, the calamary, the prawns and the sea shells were weighted. The cost of it was based on the weight. On average, the cost was about 12 USD per kilo gram.

While waiting for the food to be ready, we ordered some drinks. My clients ordered some water and local Indonesian beer called Bintang beer. I chose fresh coconut water 😀.

Some minutes later, the food was ready. I was almost a bit late to take photos of the food because everybody had started to eat. Here is the photo of the food with some "damages" already made by us.

The food was delicious. The grilled fish was soft and tasty shimmered Balinese sauce. The prawns were sweet. They were cut perfectly so it's easy to peel their skins. The water spinach and steamed rice were a great addition to make the taste even more enjoyable. My least favorite was the sea shell, even though according to my clients they were delicious too.

Well, this was a nice place in the evening. The atmosphere was so relaxing, the food taste was excellent. What more can I say?
