Mi compañera hasta llegar allí es una de mis primas con la que me llevo estupendamente. Ella también en primeriza en cruzar distancias tan largas.
Lo primero es el autobús Bilbao – Barcelona. Una vez en la ciudad condal montamos en tren hasta el aeropuerto. Y a media mañana despega nuestro primer avión internacional con duración de 6 horas hasta Doha, Qatar, Emiratos Árabes. Es un lugar al que nunca me había planteado llegar. Se me hace extraña la sensación de pensar que, aunque sea solo en el aeropuerto, voy a estar allí. Durante dos horas que es lo que dura la escala.
De ahí partimos hacia el destino final, Tailandia, al que llegamos a las 07:00 de la mañana, hora local.
Una vez allí, nos reencontramos con dos amigas que se fueron antes y llevan ya una buena trayectoria asiática a sus espaldas. Punto de encuentro, Bangkok. Como si fuera tan sencillo, ya veremos una vez que estemos allí.
Todo esto es lo que tenemos planeado y así es como tendría que salir, sin ningún contratiempo. Aunque sabemos que eso es imposible, pues lo planeado raramente sale como un espera.
Con esto termino esta breve introducción a un viaje de casi dos meses por esos lugares exóticos. Prometo ir contando.

Last shower in European bathroom with the heater on. Last time I blow dry my hair in a couple of months. Last breakfast of Cola-cao with cookies. Last day of wearing warm clothes, jacket and scarf, at least until the return. Last touch up of the backpack with the four last minute things.
Everything is ready. Tonight begins our adventure to Southeast Asia. The first time I travel to a place so far away and different, and that makes me nervous, but very much looking forward to it.
My companion until we get there is one of my cousins with whom I get along great. She is also a first-timer in crossing such long distances.
The first thing is the bus Bilbao - Barcelona. Once in Barcelona we take the train to the airport. And at mid-morning our first international plane takes off for 6 hours to Doha, Qatar, United Arab Emirates. It is a place I had never thought of going to before. It's a strange feeling to think that, even if it's at the airport, I'm going to be there. For two hours, which is how long the layover lasts.
