Hello Hivers!
This is an exciting day today since I harvested the first chives and lettuce for today´s lunch. The lettuce will still grow but the young leaves are so knackig that I couldn´t help but cut them for today´s green salad. I was careful to just cut the outer lettuce leaves. Each of these plants will still grow...I hope , hope hope so, am crossing my fingers!
The chives are actually small onion bulbs that were planted last April, although they suffered because of the cold weather we have had. But then, it is getting warmer and I think they have al recovered.
For today´s salad, I simply added some store bought cherry tomatoes, made a vinaigrette with a sprit of liquid stevia to make it a bit sweet and sour.
Today´s lunch -Reisfleisch......
This had been our lunch I cooked today which is a typical Austrian rice dish added with sweet paprika powder cooked pork meat usually from pork belly. The salad greens are ideal for such meal.
That´s all for now...I will be posting the recipe for the Reisfleisch soon. My husband had been amused because this is one of his favorite dishes.
