Celebrated my sister's birthday

Time passes so quickly. It is my sister's birthday again. This time we got her a fruit cake. Fruit cakes never fail. Currently, I am out of town and had a busy day. Been a while since I went on a plane.

The bakery somehow was slightly lazy by just writing H.B instead of Happy Birthday. It would be mistaken as part of her name. Slices of strawberry, kiwi, sliced mango and some longans. Have you heard of longans?

This is a sponge cake and the sides are full of almond slices to give it that extra crunchiness.

The toy layer is jelly and the bottom is sponge cake. There was a problem. Since both layers are not a piece, when we used a knife to cut through, it separated into two parts.

I can tell that a lot of effort was placed into making this cake. So many layers. The good thing is that the cake doesn't taste sweet. It just taste sweet enough to be edible but not to drive up the sugar levels.

Macros make cakes more delicious looking. Those beautiful perfect slices of strawberry. Strawberry usually are imported from overseas as Malaysia doesn't have the cold temperature to farm them. It is not often that these strawberries are found in the supermarket.

Kiwis are also imported. Usually from Australia and New Zealand. The perfect combination of delicious.
