Maenpo Cikalong is a traditional martial arts style developed by Raden. Jayaperbata (Rd. Haji Ibrahim) in the early XVIII century. Raden. Jayaperbata is a noble family in Cianjur district. Maenpo Cikalong was influenced by some ancient martial arts because Raden Jayaperbata studied with Abah Khaer, Kari, Madi, and more than 17 other silat warriors. Abah Khaer was a Cimande silat master. Another influence was a silat master from Pagaruyung, West Sumatra. He was Mohammad Kosim (1766-1880).

The Principle of Maenpo Cikalong

Self-defense is not to harm the opponent, but to defend and save the opponent.
