I've been meaning to post for a couple of days but cooking, cleaning, and fathering have left me with little time outside my ASEAN Hive duties.

๐ŸŒ Banana Harvest Leads To Banana Madness ๐Ÿคช

ย  ย  ย A couple our banana trees have produced ripe fruit at similar times, so we have been swimming in bananas lately. They would've gone bad before could've ate them all, so I sliced and froze at least 40 of them. I only recently remembered the frozen banana stash, so I blended them with a bit of coconut and soymilk, and bing, bang, boom, instant tasty dessert.

ย  ย  ย As usual with anything I prepare in the kitchen, Monkey-B is the first in the room and declares herself chief taster. When the bananas frozen beforehand and no ice is used, after blending the texture is exactly like a Frostie, something from the Wendy's fast-food chain I used to enjoy when I was young. It's not quite a smoothie nor is it ice cream, and it's kind of pudding-ish.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ Rain Dance Needed ๐Ÿ•บ

vfvfvfv.png

ย  ย  ย It has barely rained in last 3 months, and although it's allowed us to do construction at a pretty fast rate, there have also been countless wildfires all around us, and surely hundreds of thousands of acres of virgin forest have been lost. It's the norm here in Cambodia though, and zero efforts were made to contain the fires, and in fact potential future land ownership makes destroying the national park and wildlife sanctuary a priority for both wealthy and working class Cambodians alike. The sad part is the land is usually sold to fund gambling debts, and then the cycle repeats itself with the Cambodian forest being sacrificed in order to keep a foreign-owned casino thriving.

ย  ย  ย We need rain more than ever to both put out the fires and improve the air quality. The deck is done other than running rope through the holes and staining it. The stain will have to wait because we need to spend nearly $50 on a 20-liter bucket to get a good price, but hopefully within a few weeks the deck will be stained, then perhaps I will stretch a UV fabric above the deck to give it a bit of shade during the afternoon sun.

A Walk To The Cabin ๐Ÿ›–

ย  ย  ย Looking to add a few more pics to the post to give it some body, I walked over to the cabin to see what the wife and Monkey-B were doing. I found my wife working on her flower garden which happens to contain mostly plants we've taken from the forest across the river.

ย  ย  ย Around the corner I found a pensive Monkey-B thinking about the meaning of life. I don't actually know what she was thinking about, probably Harry Potter or ice cream, but she did look quite pensive. Our fence is nearly done and I can now envision guests thoroughly enjoying their time here on our property. I only have a little over a month left before my visa determines I must leave Cambodia for a bit. I will visit my family in the USA because I don't think they will ever come here to visit, nor will my Cambodian family ever get a US visa, so thank you world governments for creating a series of archaic laws before I was born and without my consent that create these circumstances.
