Sublime Beautiful Sunday | Weekend Grocery, My Favourite

It's Sunday... And it's time for another Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday. So, I'm trying something new this week. Something out of the box, something different, something wild, something odd and who knows where this Sunday will lead us.

A visit to the weekend wet market is and will probably be one of the main highlights for me. After all, I work from sunrise to sunset every day and since my office & home are literally speaking in the same compound, I hardly step out unless it's for business meetings. Now that life is more or less back to normal and everyone is accepting to live as best as possible with our newly claimed BFF, Covid; we realised that we so desperately need to be in the outdoors.

Today, I finally got back to my favourite weekend routine - grocery shopping at the local wet market. I know many foreigners aren't so keen to visit these wet markets because language can be a problem but it's also the best place to learn the language. One is forced to practice listening & speaking, at least the basic words and the rest would be just sign/body language! I mean when we're back home, we do go to the wet market to fresh items; no supermarket can provide you that. Of course.. online grocery & delivery is far more advance here than it is back home which ultimately make people kind of lazy to go out shopping unless necessary.

This is the sight of the local street wet market near my new home Yeah.. I just moved yesterday so finding this place is very important to me! Vendors display their good on both sides of the walkway and people either walk & ride their bikes; stopping only to buy their provisions. This is a very common sight in most places in this country which also draws in many foreign tourist attraction. Truth be told, I was really happy to see so many people ... life is back to normal, provisions are plentiful and fresh, no more sky-high killer prices and we're in the outdoors!

Since this was my first time walking in this area, I wasn't sure what to expect or buy. But, I was very impressive with what this wet market has to offer. Not only one could find vendors on each side of the street but there was actually a proper wet market building at the center of the crowd. So, people could actually go inside the building or just buy from the street vendors. For some reasons, those who are selling on the walkways tend to have lower prices since they don't need to pay for any rental of space. I did buy some vegetables, flowers & meat; just what I can carry.. well, I couldn't help myself 😆

I believe I'm going to enjoy my weekend grocery experience moving ahead! There's still so much to see and I've just only scratch the surface of this new area. Unfortunately, the kitchen of my new home is rather small so the cooking experience may not be so fulfilling but then it's all up to us to make the best of everything, isn't it ? If we had everything, that would be a miracle 😉

Till, next week when I have more to share .. Have a great work week.
