Hive blog 39: at home series 6 | people found an easy way

Hi there hiver friends 😊

Let me continue my recollection when I was on vacation leave at home. When there was the typhoon Agaton in my province.

After the heavy rains, the sky finally got tired of tearing. The sky slightly cleared up. The good news was, the Basyang typhoon has melted on the ocean and has not come to land. We were thankful, that was making us worried because they said it was stronger. But we were glad it did not happen.

We checked on the river that morning, seeing how low it was already. If we could ever cross or not. It has not gone down yet. One neighbor was brave to climb that damaged hanging bridge that still on hang. He was the first one to cross the river and got the rope with him to make a pulley. It was quite scary to watch. Haven't had a photo on that he successfully got the rope to our side. Several private people and government agency helped us. They send us foods and medicine via the hook, the rope and the sack. The other side has to be man. They would pull the rope after when the sack arrived on our side. They were the one who we asked to buy something like foods for the pigs and anything. We asked them to charge our cellphones to whose houses has spare outlets. Good thing their power lines were working, and asked them to put it back to the sack after if it got full in battery. I couldn't thank enough how kind they were.

Clips for keeps:

We had received lots of help from the Municipal, local police officer, TUCP partylist and other private groups. Rice, can goods and bread and medicine. It was so nice that the people on the other side shared and had a bayanihan as an initiative to help people that basically were trap, not able to work and couldn't go to town.

What we could do after the typhoon was, wait until the water slowed down. Played the washed stones and gravel.

The water has gone down at the afternoon, but it couldn't be passable yet because the looks of it was still not safe. The water looks muddy and pretty sure the broken concrete above has brought iron bars. It was not visible yet. We had to wait for the river to clear up.

That was all for that day, I will be back tomorrow. The next one, we will be cooking Biko. We were cooking it for Nanay's birthday that day. See you :).
