I am not sure how he calls it. But our neighborhood knows it when you say,'ka Pacio'. Its a sari-sari store located in the sitio.

A sari-sari store, anglicized as neighborhood sundry store, is a convenience store found in the Philippines. The word sari-sari is Tagalog meaning "variety" or "sundry". Such stores occupy an important economic and social location in a Filipino community and are ubiquitous in neighborhoods and along streets. Wikipedia

It started like a dream and a plan with action. My brother is quite courageous in starting his own business. His stocks started small and eventually he added items that are needed in the community as he learn along what to sell. He chose to work on his own rather than being a employee somewhere. He said he better stay in the province and sell than working in the city. It works for him but with lots of struggles.

He was selling barbeque at first at that part of the neighborhood. It was then at the side of our Tiyo house, when he was still in Manila. Barbecue stopped as his friends were slowly dripting away and found new ways to earn. Barbeque turned into sari-sari store. It started with a loan from a friend to start the store. Our Tiyo came home so the small store closed. He didn't stop there. Since this place is where people go for a retails in our sitio, it would be a right place to open a store. There are several sari- sari store here already. Usually, its connected to someones house. He dreamed and made it to reality. He asked around if there were someone who could sell a plot of land. He found it, got another loan to buy the piece of land. It was then a bushes area but became little kubo shack to start his sari-sari store. It started the year 2017 and now thriving and still standing.
All Glory to God.

It fell to the ground one day during the typhoon Odette last year. Like literally down, he saved what he could save and started again to get back. He found ways to fund the repair and make it much better and sturdy. It become concrete as he was determined to build it strong.

Today, it is back and getting good each day. What you can buy here is just about everything. He has vegetables, can goods, drinks, condiments like a mini grocery. There are also feeds for hog and chickens. He tried everything.
His latest addition to the stocks is the ukay-ukay or thrift store beside it.

The ukay is supplied by his friend from Manila. They share what they earn. I think that is good addition to the store.

He faces challenges from starting to what it is now. Credit is inevitable but I think he has ways to handle it. He survive and keep on going each day. Its developing and hopefully stand still through the test of time.

Tara ka Pacio, palit tag 🍻 beer!

If he doesn't have what you need then you can look it up to the neighbors store next to him. Thankful for the chance to serve our neighborhood and grateful for the support by buying everytime.

Bye suki, until next time.
