Effort always has rewards - sooner or later

A selfi in the mini garden that I created

The week end was full of activities - I went to my native to bring more Jeevamrutha and apple berries as explained in my last post but what was waiting for me was quite different. I was delighted to see some results of my hard work.

The big flowers are so beautiful - I originally planted them to use the flowers for our worship to God but Mom said, she cannot take those flowers - they are better here. May be she can take the small ones, once they start fading and getting old, but anyone who comes to the home stops by these trees first - to see them close, to enjoy the beauty/colors of nature.

I could not resist setting up a selfi spot in between, moving some of the pots. And I did not have anyone to take a snap - called in a child to take some photos.

And now look who found out the spot to sit and relax - there will be hardly anyone who does not enjoy the beauty of the nature. We all notice it - may be in our own way.

He looks quite relaxed and enjoying there, isn't it ? Are there better rewards than this ? There is a saying in my place - work like a labourer - you will have the rewards some day, if not immediately.

The morning passed very fast - that's what happens in Winter. I had lot of work, that was very much needed. Getting some prawns for home, saving a banana tree while cutting another on top of it.

Half of the bananas were left out because there was no one to do this work and Mom wanted me to take care of this. It took more than a hour with lot of hard work, but we were able to complete. The rewards were those matured banana and then the banana stem. Our maid helped me all along - someone has to hold that high table.

This is how it looks - all clean and the next one about to be ready to grow well. I wanted a stem also to bring so I cleaned up one. If you do not know, then the stem has healing power to clean your stomach naturally. And one should not eat the banana and stem at the same time - they are considered as mother and child.

The banana project was successful with these accomplishments. And while going to the backward, I could not stop noticing those big carambolas - so even though it was risky as no one was there to hold that table, I went alone and filled few bags - relying on the branches for my safety.

Can you really take your eyes from these ? I was a bit nervous at times to stand at such height and stretching a lot to grab those big ones but then I gave up on few. Took a selfi to see it myself with some fear - very few times in life, I am scared.

It was almost 2 p.m. in the afternoon and I had to rush for the feast - the football team arranged a feast near the field - a mini forest. But before leaving there, I did took a snap of the happy man eating the prawn curry.

If you have followed my posts earlier, then this is where we are going to move - shift our field as the National Highway is about to go taking half of the current area. I am part of both the teams - Football as well as Cricket - and we have so many people in both the teams who are dedicated to save the field. Numbers always matter in getting noticed and that is how we are gathering support from political people to help us acquire and move to this new area and modernize it with some funds from them. The football team is a bit different because we have players in the age group of 13 - 60 - we allow anyone who has courage to join the team and play with us. When I was 14 years old, I used to play with seniors like this and I know how it feels to be given opportunity to play with them. It helps the kids to strengthen the level of confidence so we allow it but at their own risk. There was not many items on the menu, but it was a real fun there to enjoy the moments.

The kids were working with pleasure - they wanted me to stay for some more time, but I had another big task - apple berries.

Now they have grown well like small apples - the effort to put the nets has yielded some amazing result. It was not easy to pluck so much - Mom helped me as well - couple of thorns were stuck on my palm. But the pleasure to distribute them to friends compensates them. By the time we completed it was almost evening, but I had to plant some new hopes.

The big container having Jeevamrutha was ready - I was very tired, but I was very happy to complete all the tasks. Organized several packets of all the yields for my friends - called in couple of friends to take them and meet before I left, and then distributed few at my place, after coming here. Realized the thorns in the night while taking dinner - my wife and daughter helped me to take them out. She got an opportunity to pinch me :) - are all couples like this ? She was delighted to see such big apple berries, and apart from eating few right away, kept some real big ones but she would not stop blaming me for being careless.

The day was so much work and fun - I was not in a position to write a post only to realize next day that @threespeak did my job of doing a post every day. A glitch sometime helps some way.
