As it's a long wait between the #gardenjournal challenges, we thought we'd create a mid month garden challenge to keep your green writing thumbs occupied. Every month there will be a different theme, but the catch is, you only have THREE days to write and enter! So keep your eye out for a notification from @gardenhive so you can get a creative garden post written, and make sure you comment on others as well.

If you miss the deadline, don't worry! You can still write on that theme - you just won't be selected as a winner, but will still get a chance for some great upvotes for great garden content!

This Month's Prompts

Each month we'll supply TWO prompts. Choose one - or hey, you can do both if you like!

Prompt 1: Your 'first' garden memory.

'I remember the first.....'

• What is the first garden you remember from childhood?
• HOWEVER, it doesn't have to be your childhood garden - you could write about the first garden you had when you moved out of home, moved cities, or your first succulent garden or first farm you owned. Just think of the word 'first'.
• You could also consider the theme as your first failure, first success, first revelation, first ...whatever you like! Be creative with the prompt.

Prompt 2: I Was Bitten By A....

We don't think this prompt needs explaining, and we're sure every gardener has been bitten by something in their garden, whether to hilarious result or tragic.

Guidelines

• Stories are as welcome as real memories - 'creative' is key! You could even do a freewrite!
• Original photos only - please no more than three.
• Word count should be no more than 800 words
• Tag someone you think might be interested in the challenge
• Beautifully written posts are favoured - consider description, humour, personal anecdotes, philosophy.
• NO AI written content please. We don't mind grammatical errors and we DO love human content.
• Please reblog and THREAD this post if you can!

• Include reference to this challenge post somewhere in your post, preferably at the end.
• Pay attention to the countdown - no entries will be accepted after the due date.
