For as long as I can remember I have always seen my mother moving plants from one place to another, fertilizing, cleaning and caring for all her plants, flowers and gardens. A beautiful but laborious job.
Un poco de contexto: Nosotros vivimos en la ciudad de Los Teques, en el estado Miranda, ubicado a unos 40 minutos de la ciudad de Caracas, Venezuela. Una zona entre las montañas de los Altos Mirandinos, un clima fresco y mucho más agradable para todo quien visita, sobre todo en las tardes y noches donde muy frecuentemente la neblina cubre el cielo nocturno. Un clima ideal para todo tipo de plantas gracias a las mañanas soleadas pero frescas, medio día brillante y caluroso, pero con tardes cálidas donde el calor del día va mermando. Las noches, van entre nublados y totalmente despejadas con un cielo oscuro.
A little context: We live in the city of Los Teques, in the state of Miranda, located about 40 minutes from the city of Caracas, Venezuela. An area between the mountains of the Altos Mirandinos, a cool climate and much more pleasant for all who visit, especially in the evenings and nights where very often the fog covers the night sky. An ideal climate for all types of plants thanks to the sunny but cool mornings, bright and hot midday, but with warm afternoons where the heat of the day is diminishing. The evenings, go between cloudy and totally clear with a dark sky.
En el jardín de mi casa -que por cierto, tierras que una vez fueron una gran plantación de café por su suelo fértil- tenemos una cantidad variada de plantas, orquídeas y una cantidad de plantas comestibles y de fragancias que se pueden disfrutar tanto olfativa como gustosamente en un té en las tardes.
In the garden of my house - which by the way, was once a large coffee plantation because of its fertile soil - we have a variety of plants, orchids and a number of edible and fragrant plants that can be enjoyed both olfactorily and tastefully in an afternoon tea.

¿Reconoces estas plantas? Si es negativa tu respuesta te contare, la primera es una deliciosa y muy apreciada Toronjil y la siguiente, de hojas carnosas y flores pequeñas pero de brillante color morado es el súper saludable y beneficioso Orégano orejón. Deliciosas en té y con propiedades medicinales incuestionables para diferentes dolencias y males que afligen al cuerpo. También hay el muy apreciado malojillo, pero está oculto en alguna parte del jardín. jejeje
Do you recognize these plants? If your answer is negative I will tell you, the first one is a delicious and much appreciated Lemon Balm and the next one, with fleshy leaves and small but bright purple flowers is the super healthy and beneficial Oregano orejon. Delicious in tea and with unquestionable medicinal properties for different ailments and illnesses that afflict the body. There is also the much appreciated malojillo, but it is hidden somewhere in the garden. jejeje
La cantidad de flores y plantas es tan copiosa como la colección de cactus y suculentas que hay en la casa. Desde las más espinosas, hasta las sinuosos y muy peligrosos cactus con espinas que no son percibidos hasta que ya están clavadas en la piel.
The quantity of flowers and plants is as copious as the collection of cacti and succulents in the house. From the most thorny, to the sinuous and very dangerous cacti with thorns that are not perceived until they are already stuck in the skin.
Suculentas de todo tamaño y plantas de las que no sé de qué parte del mundo provienen y orquídeas que dejan fragancias en toda la estancia en las tardes. Una delicia para quien desea venir a visitar y adora el tesoro verde. Como me hace feliz ver a mi madre con sus plantas, sé que le sirve de catarsis por las complicaciones diarias del día a día en Venezuela.
Succulents of all sizes and plants that I do not know what part of the world they come from and orchids that leave fragrances throughout the room in the evenings. A delight for those who want to visit and love the green treasure. As it makes me happy to see my mother with her plants, I know it serves as a catharsis for the daily complications of everyday life in Venezuela.
