Fruit of Labor

It's been a while since the last time I shared about the garden that we had at home. So let me give you all an update on how our plants are going.

Since hubby started working in the government, specifically in the Agriculture Department, he learned more about gardening. He then started planting different kinds of vegetables and spices at home.

For now, we have squash, eggplant, bottle gourd, pechay, tomatoes, bell pepper, sword pepper, and spring onion.

Here are the plants that we had at home.

This is our five squash planted at the top part near our house. Hubby got the squash seedlings from his workplace. We can see that it bearing flowers already hopefully we can have our squash vegetable soon.

Look how many tomatoes we had. There are more of them from the other side of the garden. Tomato is the first ever plant that my hubby planted aside from our spring onion.

Our two sword pepper plants. Honestly, I thought this plant will stop giving us sword pepper but after my husband transfer it to the ground and after he takes care of them, it grows bigger and healthier now and we can see how much sword pepper is in it.

We have many eggplants now and we can have eggplant anytime we want. We don't have to buy from the market. Hubby is happy to see the eggplant is growing healthier.
We can sell some of them soon.

My mother-in-law gave us four seeds of bottled gourd. Actually at first hubby thought that it was a bitter gourd coz of the shape and texture of the seeds but when the seeds starts growing I notice that it is not a bitter gourd. Hubby also put his spring onion next to the bottle gourd as we don't have any space to put it.

Now after trying his luck for the 3rd time of growing pechay he finally had a successful one. We had lots of pechay seedlings now but we only have a limited space to plant so hubby give some of them to our neighbors who wanted to plant pechay. We still have more pechay seedlings left hopefully we can have more pots to be planted more seedlings.

And the last plant that we have is our bell pepper. Only one of them is growing fine and healthier.

Ending thoughts

Having our mini garden at home makes my husband busy every day checking his plants. Checking if it has worms and insects makes the plants stop growing healthier. He checks it in the morning and in the evening. He works so hard to make our garden grows healthier.
We all know that the prices of basic commodities go higher. It helps us to save by not buying everything in the market.
