Darksiders is an already a bit old title from the Xbox 360 generation. However, it caused such a furor among the community that, in 2016, THQ Nordic decided to release Darksiders Warmastered Edition, which is much more than a remake. Although it presents the best moments of the 2010 version and many of its features, it is a different game.
Today I started my journey towards the war between heaven and hell, by the hand of one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in this case by the hand of War.
At the beginning of this adventure, they tell us a little about the history of the eternal conflict between heaven and hell and how the Seven Seals maintained a truce after the creation of the Third Kingdom (The Kingdom of Humans). The images shown in the game and their animations are spectacular:
When breaking the Seventh Seal (conflict in which we are immersed) we go to a metropolis that is not specified. There the day of judgment has been unleashed. Our duty is to restore order and save the world from its destruction.
In one day we advance the first part together with War.
The city falls apart.
Until now, the game introduces us fully to the main story and we feel immersed in its setting. The architecture is simply spectacular. Fighting is a relentless action.
At this point we face Abaddon, an ancient demon who wants to destroy us. We must fight him. We die and are judged by a council.
From there we enter the kingdom of the beyond, where we are judged, and we will begin to try to clear our name, since according to the council we have unleashed Chaos and come into the world without the riders having been called.
Here in this part of the game, we learn what is the currency to trade human souls, with which we can deal with demons and get valuable information that help us in missions. We also got our Devouring Sword and learned to use it with one of her first abilities. And we dip our arms in boiling lava to secure our loyalty to the Council.
After this guardian becomes our watcher, we must go find the Demon Vulgrim, 10 years into the future. In other words, 10 years have passed since our first arrival to the Third Kingdom.
While looking for the Demon we must face different types of demons, some larger, others smaller. We already see the Third Kingdom devastated and the humans have been completely eliminated.
Vulgrim will appear in the heart of the city. Once we talk to him he will tell us to give him some souls to eat. Then he will ask us for 500 human souls to give us the information about the Power of the Destroyer.
We collect souls throughout the city fighting against various enemies.
A trick that can help us to do this task much faster is using the Vulgrim Devil Deck, which you can find by pressing the letter O, which will indicate the chests of souls hidden in the city, which we must take advantage of to collect a greater number of souls.
Once the task is completed, the guardian will notify us and we can go deliver the 500 souls to Vulgrim.
Once we deliver the 500 Souls to Vulgrim, he will give us a Magic Cone that allows us to enter the portal and search for the demon Samael.
For a first day of Adventure at Darksiders, I think it is a game that totally meets expectations. It is an action-packed game, with spectacular graphics and a story that leaves us wanting to know what comes next.
I don't know right now where Samael is. We can say that the first day in our Vitacura we met Vulgrim and a little about the history of the War, our main character.
Apparently, this demon, Vulgrim, we are going to have to visit more than once and he will be our information merchant for certain missions. In the next installment we see where Samael is and what other surprises Vulgrim and his deals bring us.
