I've always liked first-person shooters more, reasons that do not come to the case to be another matter. But I can say with all certainty that Gear Of Wars 2 was a masterpiece of Epic Games and Microsoft that it will take a long time to make a title of this magnitude.
The graphic part comes to the fore because, for the time, the work of modeling and textures was revolutionary. The construction of the environment, the handling of the cameras during the battle, the details in the weapons, and of course the amount of blood and gore made the whole scenario, the perfect carnage of war.
Not only that, it captivated me. Cliff Bleszinski's design work created a perfect story to be played in a masterful campaign. The great joy of this campaign was that it could be played in co-op. The development of the two main characters Marcus Michael Fenix and Dominic Santiago is an empathetic journey through the raging war with the Locust. Not to mention that the online was truly exquisite, which made the game infinite once you got past the campaign which was so good you would play through it again.
Action, love, pain, sorrow, sadness, and an uncertain war victory are present in the universe of GOW 2. If you haven't played this title, I recommend you do it and you will get to know an incredible world.
I could go on adding things about the game but my intention of today's post is to show a relic that my brother returned to me, which I bought a long time ago. It is not in perfect condition but I think that the same deterioration makes it even more impressive, for me, it has an incalculable value since the world of GOW2 left in my excellent memories.
I bought this edition during the release year of the game (2008) I liked it a lot since I saw the edition, all the art that comes with it (I'm going to show it) plus special in-game items, a golden weapon, and other items. It is something that has given me a lot of joy to get back.
This is the original edition box many years have passed over it:
Inside the box comes a metallic package that contains the game, the promotions, and a special bonus cd. It also comes with an art book with the designs of the game and a physical item that appears in the campaign, something that, surprisingly at first when you open the box you do not understand, but when you go through the story, it is as if you could have a fragment of the game in your hands and this is magical.
This is the metal box where the cds and promotions come, the rust has been present by the passage of time, but hey, it's a war story. The image that is engraved on it is the weapon that you will use during the campaign, the Gears weapon, with which you will be able to split Locust in half and fill the screen with blood.
we have the Artbook, spectacular work, and design. It tells the story behind the characters and the world of GOW2.

And finally here is the photo kept by Dominic Santiago, Marcus' faithful friend and companion in the fight. A photo of his wife Maria who dies during the first Locust attacks, Dominic is accompanied by this photo throughout the campaign and thus ends up being part of us and the memory of an incredible journey. I think that in a digital world having the physical item available is invaluable.
Gears Of War 2 for me has been without a doubt one of those games that you say "it has been a pleasure to have invested my time in you" is not wasted. Even today I can say that it is still a title worth playing. Thank you very much for sharing this experience with me, I hope you have played GOW2 because I know it will bring back many memories. Hola gamers, espero que todos se encuentran muy bien. Hoy voy hablar acerca de un juego que en su momento fue para mí un gran título de una gran saga que actualmente sigue vigente. Gears of war, en específico Gears Of War 2
Siempre me han gustado más los shooters en primera persona, razones que no vienen al caso al ser harina de otro costal. Pero puedo decir con toda certeza que Gear Of Wars 2 fue una obra maestra de Epic Games y Microsoft que pasará mucho tiempo para poder volver hacer un título de esta envergadura.
Evidentemente la parte gráfica sale a relucir, porque para la época, el trabajo de modelado y texturas fue revolucionario. La construcción del ambiente, el manejo de las cámaras durante la batalla, los detalles en las armas y por supuesto una cantidad de sangre y gore que hacía de todo el escenario, la carnicería perfecta de guerra.
No solo eso me cautivó. El trabajo diseñado por Cliff Bleszinski creo una historia perfecta para ser jugada en una campaña magistral. La gran dicha de esta campana, era que podía ser jugada en co-op. El desarrollo de los dos personajes principales Marcus Michael Fenix y Dominic Santiago es un viaje empático a través de la estrepitosa guerra con los Locust. Sin contar que el online era realmente exquisito, lo que hacía del juego algo infinito una vez pasada la campaña que era tan buena que la volvías a pasar.
Acción, amor, dolor, tristeza mas una victoria de una guerra incierta están presentes en el universo de GOW 2. Si no haz jugado este título, te recomiendo lo hagas y vas a conocer un mundo realmente increíble. Podría seguir agregando cosas sobre el juego pero mi intención del post de hoy es mostrar una reliquia que me devolvió mi hermano, la cual que compre hace mucho tiempo. No está en perfecto estado pero creo que el mismo deterioro la hace más impresionante aún, para mí tiene un valor incalculable ya que el mundo de GOW2 dejo en mi excelentes recuerdos.
Esta edición la compré durante el año de lanzamiento del juego (2008) me gustó mucho desde que vi la edición, todo el arte que trae consigo (ya lo voy a mostrar) más objetos especiales dentro del juego, un arma dorada y otros artículos. Es algo que me ha dado mucha dicha recuperar.

Dentro de la caja viene un empaque metálico que posee el juego, las promociones y un cd de bonus especial. También lo acompaña un libro del arte con los diseños del juego y un item físico que aparece en la campaña, algo que, sorpresivamente en un momento cuando abres la caja no lo comprendes, pero cuando pasas la historia, es como si pudieras tener un fragmento del juego en tus manos y esto es hace mágico.
Este es la caja metálica donde vienen los cds y las promociones, el oxido se ha hecho presente por el pasar del tiempo, pero bueno, es una historia de guerra. La imagen que vienen grabada en ella es el arma que usaras durante la campaña, el arma de Gears, con la cual podrás partir Locust a la mitad y llenar de sangre la pantalla.
En tercer lugar tenemos el libro de Arte, un trabajo y diseño espectacular. Cuenta la historia detrás de los personajes y el mundo de GOW2.

Y por último aquí esta la foto que guardaba Dominic Santiago el fiel amigo y compañero de lucha de Marcus. Una foto de su esposa Maria quien muere durante los primeros ataques de los Locust, a a Dominic le acompaña esta foto durante toda la campaña y así termina siendo parte de nosotros y el recuerdo de un increíble viaje. Creo que en un mundo digital tener a disposición el item fisico es algo invaluable.
Gears Of War 2 para mi ha sido sin duda uno de esos juegos que dices “ ha sido todo un placer haber invertido mi tiempo en ti” no tiene desperdicio. Incluso hoy puedo decir que sigue siendo un titulo que merece la pena ser jugado.
