Digimon Survive (Reseña/Review)

En un viaje de la escuela hacia otra ciudad, Takuma junto a sus amigos se pierden en un misterioso bosque que no tiene señal alguna y donde habitan seres jamas vistos, encontrándose atrapados en un lugar que no conocen, sin poder buscar ayuda, deciden buscar las respuestas necesarias para saber que sucede con ese misterioso mundo nuevo.

On a school trip to another city, Takuma along with his friends get lost in a mysterious forest that has no sign and where beings never seen before live, finding themselves trapped in a place they do not know, unable to seek help, they decide to look for the answers necessary to know what happens with that mysterious new world.

He sido fanático de Digimon desde pequeño, siempre he buscado jugar o saber todo de su mundo, al saber que tenia la oportunidad de jugar su nuevo juego a penas saliera, no podía evitar hacerlo y, aunque ya lleva un tiempo desde que salio, fue sino justo hace unos días que lo complete, para así poder decir, que opino del juego.

Empezando con la jugabilidad, el juego es descrito como una novela gráfica, así que hay más conversaciones que batallas, algo que a muchos no les parece correcto, pero la verdad, no sentí que hubiesen tanta conversación, pude haber sentido lo mismo con Neo: The world ends with you y aun así no se sintió pesado la historia, al contrario, era entretenida, aquí sucede lo mismo, si eres fan o no de Digimon, es una historia nueva donde cualquiera puede empezar sin saber los nombres de ninguno.

Lo que hace que la balanza se incline al tener la opinión de que hay demasiadas conversaciones, es el hecho de que no existen tantas peleas, cada cierto tiempo tienes la oportunidad de elegir pelear con otros Digimons, pero que terminan siendo los mismos cuatro cada vez que vences a cada dos de ellos, sabiendo ya sus movimientos, sus ataques y solo te emocionas al ver enemigos nuevos cuando avanzas en la historia, teniendo un limite de solo 100 Digimons disponibles en el juego, cosa que me parece muy poco a comparación con los últimos juegos de Digimon.

En la historia, como había dicho, no hace falta saber nada de Digimon para jugarlo, es una historia totalmente diferente a las ya contadas, lo que hace que, si eres fanático, sepas algo nuevo, y si no lo eres, veas algo nuevo. La historia podrá verse como una historia típica y sencilla, pero termina uniendo el misterio con un poco de terror de por medio, teniendo situaciones que no se podrían haber visto en el anime o en cualquiera de los juegos.

En el juego tienes la oportunidad de elegir el camino que tomar, esto hace que cambie la historia según tus decisiones, en ocasiones se puede sentir la sensación de que elegiste mal sin saber si es así o no, haciéndote prestar atención a la historia para intentar tomar la mejor decisión para el grupo, así que la historia no esta en segundo plano, es el mayor atractivo.

Llegue a leer que el juego a penas las personas supieron que era una novela gráfica lo llenaron de malas reseñas sin jugarlo o terminarlo, o eso cuenta la comunidad de Twitter. La verdad es que puede ser un mejor juego, teniendo batallas con condiciones de victorias que te hagan pensar más. El campo de batalla es como un tablero de ajedrez y cada uno de los Digimons se mueven y atacan diferentes, haciéndote pensar en los movimientos para conseguir la victoria, si se enfocaran en colocar retos al juego, podría ser más divertido.

Pude haber terminado el juego en una semana, pero por estar ocupado no pude hacerlo, así que, siendo fanático de la franquicia de Digimon, Digimon Survive es un juego incompleto aun, teniendo cuatro años de desarrollo solo para entregar algo a medias, donde podían colocar más variedad de Digimons, evitar que su captura fuese inútil en algún punto y las batallas fuesen un poco más estratégicas. Aun así, es un juego que disfrute y que ando jugando por segunda vez para saber como seria otro camino, con una música relajante, batallas entretenidas al menos y te hace pensar tus decisiones en el juego, así que podría darle un 6/10.

I have been a fan of Digimon since I was little, I have always wanted to play or know everything about its world, knowing that I had the opportunity to play its new game as soon as it came out, I couldn't help but do it and, although it has been a while since it came out, it was but just a few days ago I completed it, so I can say what I think of the game.

Starting with the gameplay, the game is described as a graphic novel, so there are more conversations than battles, something that many do not think is correct, but the truth is, I did not feel that there was so much conversation, I could have felt the same with Neo: The world ends with you and even so the story did not feel heavy, on the contrary, it was entertaining, the same thing happens here, whether you are a Digimon fan or not, it is a new story where anyone can start without knowing the names of any.

What tips the scales in having the opinion that there are too many conversations, is the fact that there are not so many fights, every so often you have the opportunity to choose to fight with other Digimon, but it ends up being the same four every time that you defeat each two of them, already knowing their movements, their attacks and you only get excited when you see new enemies when you advance in the story, having a limit of only 100 Digimons available in the game, which seems very little to me compared to the latest Digimon games.

In the story, as I said, you don't need to know anything about Digimon to play it, it's a totally different story from the ones already told, which means that, if you're a fan, you know something new, and if you're not, you see something new. The story can be seen as a typical and simple story, but it ends up uniting the mystery with a bit of terror in between, having situations that could not have been seen in the anime or in any of the games.

In the game you have the opportunity to choose the path to take, this makes the story change according to your decisions, sometimes you can feel the feeling that you chose wrong without knowing if it is so or not, making you pay attention to the story to try make the best decision for the group, so the story isn't in the background, it's the biggest draw.

I came to read that the game as soon as people knew it was a graphic novel they filled it with bad reviews without playing it or finishing it, or so the Twitter community says. The truth is that it can be a better game, having battles with victory conditions that make you think more. The battlefield is like a chessboard and each of the Digimons move and attack differently, making you think about the moves to achieve victory, if they focused on setting challenges to the game, it might be more fun.

I could have finished the game in a week, but because I was busy I couldn't do it, so, being a fan of the Digimon franchise, Digimon Survive is still an incomplete game, having four years of development just to deliver something halfway, where they could place more variety of Digimons, prevent their capture from being useless at some point and the battles were a little more strategic. Even so, it is a game that I enjoy and that I am playing for the second time to know what another path would be like, with relaxing music, entertaining battles at least and it makes you think about your decisions in the game, so I could give it a 6/10.

I thought I would do the Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth complete edition post first, but I still haven't finished it even though I've played more than 100 hours, at some point I'll bring it with my opinion along with other games. I hope you liked it, without further ado, see you later.
